In place of McStay, the loss of Oscar to the ruck is also hurting our structure. Skinner and Ballenden are green (Ressies in the VFL or similar would help). Adams being out hurts the defence too.

Our outs are big in nature and structure.

The Tigers have plenty of potatoes (Castagna, Chol, Baker etc), but they are disciplined potatoes who play their role and don't allow mistakes to snowball.

If that's the best we can do - start playing some kids that can kick, mark and all the rest. We have not learnt a thing from last year. By the look of it it will be another 11 years before we beat Richmond.

What a crock of crap has been put up on this thread.

We're easily competitive with them.

They've been gifted goals ,we've blown opportunities like we have 100 to spare every quarter.

Umpiring is beyond a joke.

We're a bit cooked but I'm more than happy if they win this by 10 because I know we can go with them easily.

Why on earth we don't go long to the square like they do instead of short into the pocket is a question perhaps best asked by our coaches because it's cost us nearly every time.

Absolutely bathed by them. We are not even close to being in this.

the newbies are just too soft. Sure they got the bodies but seriously they are just getting pushed around so easily!

Oscar has looked really slow all night. We really should of rested him. He is not doing anything around the ground and can barely stand on the mark.

Achee is a horrible decision maker.

CEY also taking forever.

Harris is trying to do everything and in the end doing nothing.

We look dead on legs running back on a rebound
Oscar and Ah Chee have been two of our best players. Easily.

Shai Bolton's dominance is a worry. We don't like coming up against players with a burst of speed in the middle.

We just stopped at end of Q2.
Start of Q3 will tell if this is tired team running out of puff early or we still have something left.

I was very worried about the inexperienced backline, but when Harris is getting done like a dinner it’s hard to expect much.

Far more worried about the clean line breaks than can get out if they middle. Our pressure in the contest has been non existent, and we’ve simultaneously overcommitted to it and left them with free runners. Stinky stuff.

4 day break v 6 day break, playing 3 KPPs with 3 games xp. Playing 6 players over 198cm. Warning signs were there.

They were and I really couldn’t fathom the pre-game confidence so many had.

I admire the optimism but no one seemed to be able to justify it with anything real. Looked like a perfect confluence of events and warning signs leading to this sort of performance we are very familiar with.

Improvement isn’t linear, and our line always seems to trend downwards leading into games against Richmond and Collingwood.

The media needs to cool it on the “Lions are the best team in the league” stuff. It’s ridiculous.

We aren’t fully baked yet. It’s almost certainly not going to be a premiership year.

We fans need to realign our expectations back to just enjoying the journey.

Expectations shot too high too soon. Where were we 24 months ago?

I wonder how much of this is psychological and how much is the 4 day turnaround. Some of our guys, mitch especially, look absolutely bushed but were also getting a deer in the headlight look as Richmond move quickly. When we get time we actually look solid but just can't kick, but then they move two or three quick kicks after a point and we look like we shit ourselves.

Some players working hard though. Lach and darce leading from the front, Oscar showing more maturity than I would have expected four weeks ago, ah chee showing great effort and linc (snapped poster), cam and lyons working hard and trying to make the contest. Just feels the difference between our bottom half and their bottom half is too great

Getting nothing out of Bailey, CEY, Berry and Robbo

Put them in the guts
