Credit where it's due. Zak was massive but Rozee wasnt a bad second fiddle. Sheesh
Drew was also outstanding clean hands when everyone else was fumbling.

That was just a really enjoyable game of footy.

We killed them in the first half. They came at us in the third and it looked to be over. Then we stepped up and kept fighting. Thought it might be the old, port won everything but didn’t kick straight so lost on the scoreboard.

And with Boak subbed out and McKenzie off, no forward line and an out of form ruck.

Zak and Connor were huge. JHF stepped up. Dan was brilliant. Drew was very good. But it legitimately felt like the lads were all in. Lord, Lycett, Bonner, DBJ, Williams, SPP, Etc the effort was huge.

Was disappointed with some of the soft frees to the demons - ie the SPP block on Gawn - and the flopping and asking for frees nature of Oliver, Hunter and some offers but overall it was reasonably umpired and Melbourne were good.

Lets put the top guys to the side for a moment. I thought Drew played an absolute ripper match tonight. Thought it was his best game of AFL footy. Won so many crucial balls in tight. That was great.

Williams was awesome in the first half and was awesome again in the last 15 minutes. Super game and what a turn around in his career.

DBJ, another great turnaround. Keep him forward forever. That pressure, tackling, hunting the ball was awesome. Super game.

Farrells first half was very very good. As was Bonners. Lycett too (though thought he was shit after half time). Ollie Lords competitiveness was a highlight.

Now for the top guys. It may be recency bias, but I really can't remember a more dominant game from a Port midfielder in a tight game than that by Zac. I know Robbie, Francou, James et al had some great games, but that was next ****ing level. Absolute god tier game of footy that you tell your grandkids about.

Houston was a ****ing monster out there. Was an impenetrable wall across the middle of the ground. Rozee was just relentless as well, super performance.

I don't think Evans is up to it.

If you can't be up and about after a win like that with your forward line sitting in the stands then when can you? Well done Port. epic win.

Watching Jonas closely as I did I was blown away by how lost he was out there. He's cooked. That was a terrible performance. Him and Evans a couple of the only lowlights in a phenomenonal performance.

I feel sorry for you. Butters just had the best game of the season and you were busy fixated on Jonas :dizzy:

I love Zak Butters

Just a public service announcement so it doesn't escape anyone's attention, we're 8-0 with Trent McKenzie in the team this year and 0-2 without him in the team. Thanks for your attention.

Your guess is as good as mine. It's the same coach that decided to give Petracca's midfield minutes to plodder-extraordinare Brayshaw for half the game – does some genuinely mind-boggling things sometimes.
I don't watch Melbourne often but thought Petracca was being managed.

Wasn't he in doubt, from an outsiders perspective looked look he was being kept as a last roll of the dice option.

Personally thought he stepped up in the 3rd after barely seeing a cente bounce in the first half.
