Round 10 trades

Heard today Gaff might be playing that goodness, he can stay in the team I hope. Darcy Mac though, could be out for a bit?

I say it every week, but fantasia just has to go. Thinking:

Fantasia -> Rookie (Lions ruck dude?)
J Smith -> Steven

I really need to start moving toward setting up for the byes. Might be in the form of moving on a couple gold coast players next week.

If Hall and Barlow come back this week, then its actually not looking too bad. Martin and Gawn's scores last weekend make it look worse than it is. But both should bounce back, especially Gawn against Port. The one thing I would do this week is upgrade Fantasia to another premium. Vince, Simpson or Doch. And maybe downgrade Mills to a rookie so next week you will have enough cash to upgrade one of your mid rookies to a premium.

I usually dont chase points but im strongly thinking of trading in kennedy just so i can captain him. He went huuuge against brisbane and might do the same against gold coast. If hall doesnt play im definately trading kennedy for him but if he does might go kerridge to him eventhough he is playing well. U guys think thats crazy

Damm didnt even think of that. Thanks for tgat suggestion. I just remember that crazy score he got like 180 or something against brisbane. He might not go that big but i think he would go 140+ and i sorely need a cap i can trust. Especially considering the amount of inside 50's the eagles get against poor opponents. The ball will come his way constantly

Haven't really had a chance to look at trades at all this week until now. My hand is pretty much forced to do a double downgrade as I have literally $0.

AIM:

  • To generate around $200k in cash by downgrading maxxed out rookies to players with potentially good JS who will play through the byes.
  • Get rid of players who aren't playing through injury
  • Maintain DPP link between forward and midfielders.
Trades:

1. Macpherson > S. Collins via shifting Mills into midfield
2. Mills > Mathieson

Pros:

  • Gets in two rookies who will have fairly good JS in the near future - Mathieson is hardly like to be dropped from our depleted midfield & Collins as a replacement for Alex Pearce who broke his leg (Sympathies to Freo fans - seen him play and he's an absolute gun defender for the future)
  • Moves out Macpherson who won't be around through the byes and a maxxed out Mills
  • Frees up $199k for next week where I can potentially do an upgrade/downgrade to get Steven
  • It's the only realistic trade I can make that gets me Mathieson without getting rid of my fwd/mid DPP
  • Josh Smith gets the hell away from being my M8
Cons:

  • Stuffs up my perfect bye structure a bit - gives me an 8/10/12 split - means I'm carrying 5 round 15 midfielders, 4 rd 15 defenders down back. It's not a disaster but it means I'll have to structure my bye trades around upgrading these players. Eg, instead of in rd 14 trading out a rd 14 > 13 player, there's a chance I'll trade a rd 15 > 13 player
  • One of Ruggles/Collins/Hartley has to start on the field this week.
EDIT: Or I could just trade Hartley or Ruggles this week, whoever's not named and hold Mills to field at D6 - I'm an idiot. Then I can move on Mills next week.

Thinking I'll go Fantasia -> Docherty and Papley -> Mathieson.

That will completely change if some of my premiums don't make it up.

Hopefully Wells and Hall are going to come back, the respective websites look confident. If so then I can get rid of Sam Mitchell for Tom Liberatore. I think there is a chance Sam could do well this week as the Hawks have Brisbane but his BE is 164 compared to Libba's 69 so I want to do the trade when it means I pocket $61K. Doubt if Sam will score highly in later games. I was short a defender last week and I just have enough to upgrade Daniel Howe to Jimmy Bartel. Unfortunately I cannot get Hewett(82 last week) onto the field to replace Tim O'Brien. Hewett is FWD/MID but O'Brien is only FWD and my reserves are FWD only so I cannot use them to assist in the move.

Need to start thinking of the bye rounds with your next few trades as you have a lot of players in the first bye round (crows, st Kilda, carlton, collingwood, suns, tigers). I would consider trading out Hickey instead of Roughead to reduce that problem
Fair enough

Trades will definitely depend on teams. I currently have Boyd, Ablett, Wells, Barlow and Hall on my bench :(

At least I know I'll get Boyd back. Hoping for 3 of the remaining 4 back in and then I will double upgrade (570k in bank) otherwise I'll have to sideways.

I am stuck for trades this week. No cash to upgrade.... It is one of those weeks that I think will be a killer for me in terms of choosing the 2 best trades.

Right there with you. Only 8k in the bank, Have done and reversed about 6 different trade combos, and I just know I'll end up choosing the worst of them all come lockout.

I have reversed way more then that. the bad thing is, no cash and a lot of spuds a have to keep fantasia :(

Would have to look at the rest of your team but probably Steven and Shaw I think would be the priorities.
My team looks like this (obviously very dependent on injured premo's returning)

That is my favourite bye structure I roll with every year. past 2 years haven't had a donut and rises up the rankings ridiculously.
This.
Amazing if you put real effort in trying to get 19 or 20 players on the ground each week, and that will be really possible with hopefully Cox playing and Currie back by then, fingers crossed.
If you do that, you are almost guarenteed to rise many spots over the 3 weeks.
Adding to this, having an Adelaide or Kangaroo gun to make use of loophole in round 14 (Goldy/Sloane etc), and same for Bombers/Eagles in round 15 (Merrett, Zaka, Josh Kennedy perfect for this) can be good times for those that plan.
