How can you afford Steele, who you trading out?

I was trading out Powell and Campbell, the only 2 outs that make sense to me, because the rest of your rookies have more money to make

Powell + Campbell + Bank = about $940k to $950k

if you minus somebody like Steele, that only leaves about $380k left, which is a Heeney type, or a rookie

You have 5 rookies on field, plus Daniher and Cameron who are probably not keepers, and 3 def rookies that are stuck around $160k/$170k, a Brayshaw calf injury to deal with, with only 17 trades left. I would be getting rookies off field with cheaper options, then luxury upgrade later. Each to their own though

McEvoy is 31 and can play in defence, Ceglar is 30 and shit. This Reeves kid is like 210cm, but only 22 years old. Makes sense to pump games into him. If he performs well, I reckon he can stay in the side

Yeah I'm convinced it'll be Highmore or Joyce. With injury prone oldies Geary and Frawley on field, taking a defender as the sub makes a lot of sense.

In saying that, with those 2 on field, Highmore could be subbed on in the first 5 minutes and score 70

Zorko and Hall? I like it. You can move Dusty/Zorko to the forward line when Rowe has hit his max price, and if Daniher/Cameron start annoying you with consecutive bad scores.

If Murphy doesn't play and you don't want to cop a donut, I'd look at a Maynard/Daniel/Harmes option for Mansell, then use whatever cash you have left to turn Powell into the best you can afford

There is every chance that Murphy, Highmore (as the sub) and Bruhn play, giving you a playing/semi-playing E on each line


ps. Zorko can become Petracca if my maths is correct. If you like him of course. Gives you a pure mid premo instead

Flynn to Reeves or Treacy in round 13 is locked and loaded. I think they'll get some games this season, which I want, enough to potentially cover a 1 week minor injury or suspension to Gawn/Grundy. I already have GC Fyfe as my perma donut for loophole

Original trades were gonna be H.Jones/Farrar to RCD then Powell to Tracc. Now that teams have been released I'm completely clueless.

Plans for a double upgrade have been wrecked by all 3 of my defence rookies being dropped after all 3 played last week.
The original plan was to trade Powell>Ridley (via Laird to mids) and McNeil>Sidebottom vis Scott to mids, but that would leave a defensive donut so now I have to trade one of the defensive rookies to Ridley which doesn't give me enough cash for Sidebottom - the best I could afford would be Heeney and I really don't want him.

Now the best option looks to be Fredericks > Ridley and Powell > RCD
I know I've missed RCD's first price rise, but he looks very good and still has a lot of cash to make.

Quite a few positives in doing this so it may be a good thing that selections have forced my hand ....
This gets all rookies off the field in my backline.
Leaves about $235k in the bank which will allow an up/down next week to bring in a top Premo. Possibly just a single upgrade.
Probably best that I have to pass on Sidebottom as I'd rather complete my forward line with Danger and Marshall when fit.

Of the options 2, although with your bank I would get a top shelf mid in instead of Zorko as Neale back soon prob cuts his mid time. Hall/Hind prob comes down to bye structure and personal preference, Hind prob the safer but Hall a bit higher ceiling.

Kosi has turned into a very rare semi-reliable defensive rookie so I'd hang onto him for now. With Farrar and Waterman not selected and McCreery no certainty to make the final cut I think you need to bolster your forward line. Zorko is by far the best forward you're considering so I'd go with option 2.

Flynn 316K with BE of 16 - Projected to increase about 35K with a score of 96

Gawn is 628K with a BE of 146 - Projected to decrease 13K with a score of 115 this week <------- Sounds about right, but then could go 130.
Cerra is 430K with a BE of 154 - Projected to decrease 20k with a score of 80 <----- Think that's a low and a score of 100-110 is more likely this week.




Do you kents think i can afford to make my trades this week and have enough to do the trades NEXT week?

By my semi conservative calculations i can, but i'm concerned Flynn might go 70, Jordan 60, Gawn 150 and Cerra 120 and i just get squeezed out.



Anyone got a calculator for BE's so i can semi work out a worse case scenario?
