Round 10 Trades

Can I start playing this game Mid-Season? Looks like fun :)
Is it just based on a players individual performance in the league for the weekend?
thanks :)

Purely their individual performance. check out www.dreamteamtalk.com and watch the their youtube clips. It's how I got my mates involved.

I'd planned on downgrading Gamble and upgrading Masten but with no good rookie options in the forward line, I think I'll let that wait...

What I can do (with 105k in the bank)

Out: Proud & Masten
In: Wilkes & Swan

Proud doesn't look like he'll break into the team again and Wilkes is only 72k (making a 50k downgrade *somewhat* worthwhile), it also gives me a playing back reserve likely to score more than NJB.

I've wanted Swan in my team for a while and I think I just need to pull the pin...

Do you guys think cashing in on 50k is worth the trade it's going to cost?

(NB i have 13 trades left)

Cheers.

It depends on whether it is purely $. If you want the player as a backup, my tip is to wait a week and keep an eye on both Wilkes and Houlihan. I'm keeping an eye more on the later. He is pacy and might find a role on the wing to allow Embley to continue to run off the backline. Might be very handy indeed. But keep it quiet - don't want everyone jumping on him next week.

If Brown averages 95 from here on in and Burton averaged 85 is the trade worth it? Give a ____ about Burton losing money, what does that have to do with the price of fish in china? It's only relevant when your cash cows lose money because you want to sell them at their peak. Burton could be worth 73K for all I care as long as he keeps averaging over 80.

Lol u put a funny spin on it, but it does make sense.

I mean that extra trade means i can fix up my backline which isnt the worst going around here, but could be better. Gram is gone for Chornes sometime soon (this round or next) and Mattner to someone else later in the season.

I guess the points i could lose ground on against others who have Jono Brown could be gained by having a better backline.

Thanks mate.

Btw what do you think on Gram to Chornes?
Do i pull the plug before this round, get more points and sacrifice a 17.5k drop (FFGenie) or just do it cos i get the extra points for it.

I have 2 non-playing rookie mids (McNamara and Armitage) which means I am likely to cop a few zeros. So, I was thinking about trading in Cotchin. Who should I trade out of McNamara and Armitage?

McNamara - injured - 124.7k - BE of -22 - average of 58
Armitage - on extended bench - 185.3k - BE of 28 - average of 64

I am thinking McNamara as he is out for 1 or 2 and then will need to find his way back in, Armitage should play at some stage and has a good average. Though, if I get rid of Armitage, I get 66k too and McNamara probably will play a bit.

Too confusing!

Alright, went a different option:

Out: Gamble, Masten
In: Corey, Davis

Ending up choosing Corey over Bartel, as I'll look to get Bartel in a couple of weeks for Palmer.

There are a lot of people looking to pick up Cotchin, but there doesnt seem to be much conversation comparing cotchin to wellingham. For those who didnt pick wellingham up last week, he is now only 10k more expensive than cotchin, with a much better average and far more likely to make more money in the next few weeks.
Is anyone else deciding between the 2 of them, and what is swaying peoples decisions to pick up one or the other?

looking at getting cotchin this week, dont wanna miss out on him

was originally going to do In: Cotchin, Valenti, Out: Tippett, Bartram. Now that valenti is dropped, was going to upgrade a back.

my team is as follows:

Def: McMahon, Milburn, C Cornes, Mattner, Ibbotson, Gram, Myers (Taylor, Hartlett)
Mid: Corey, Cross, S Thompson, M Murphy, N Stevens, Palmer (Bartram, S Browne)
Ruck: Simmonds, Mcintosh (Leuenberger, Jacobs)
Fwd: Pavlich, Didak, Deledio, Chapman, J Brown, Tredrea, Kosi (Rioli, Tippett)

have 134,100 in the bank, so with trading bartram to cotchin will have 211,800 in the bank for an upgrade. have 13 trades left.

Was thinking upgrading Taylor to Birchall, putting Myers on the bench.

Any suggestions, maybe not do the cotchin trade, or upgrade to someone better?

Not sure whether to trade out Tippett or Dew for Franklin

Dew/Tippett will be my first reserve.

thoughts?

I would be trading Dew before Tippett.

Tippett will play every game for the Crows this year barring injury, I would think.

Dew is now out with a hamstring for the 2nd time this year, so I am starting to query whether he will be able to get his body at a level of fitness required at AFL level.

I have Tippett in my reserves and plan to keep him all season long.

I've heard this too on these boards mainly, nothing solid yet.

Who should i upgrade to B Johnson, Mooney or Rioli?

What are peoples thoughts on Drummond?

I need to make a trade in my backline, well a few trades but just the one this week.

Looking at Drum to Drummond.

I also have Riggo and Piffiefer one of which will need an upgrade.

have 109k and 12 trades.

Wondering if Drummond is worth the cash considering I need to upgrade 1 of the two above and I also need to upgrade Watson and Stanton.

Thoughts are that I could 50k each into the backs and a mid, rather than most of it on drum to drummond

Wasn't going to trade Gamble this week because his price can't drop. But I did it with the Gun Forwards set to rise this week, well they should anyway.

IN: Didak
OUT: Gamble

I chose Didak over Rob Murphy which I don't think I can lose out of because they are averaging about the same, Didak is a little cheaper which swayed me. Chappy's injuries have me concerned and I will probably pass Chappy up all year.

Richo and Buddy were out of my price range and Riewoldt is out of form.

I made a post on Drummond in the Ask a No Passengers Member thread. There are a few discussions in there that might be helpful to you.

This is not a trade for this week but maybe in the coming weeks

Out
Wonaman
In
Mcleod

that is potentiall an upgrade which will get me some money as well.

Option 1 or 2 guys?

Option 1.
Armitage --> Hinkley/Kennedy (but are these guys useless?)
Gamble --> Brad Johnson
...Significant forward line upgrade, though weak-ish 9th mid position. Prevent me copping a Chapman-induced zero in the fwd line this week also.

Option 2.
Armitage --> Cotchin
Boak --> Joel Corey
...Forward line will still have two two of Rioli/Gamble/Tippet on the field, but midfield is strong, and 9th mid position is also strong (Cotchin)

Note: I already have Wellingham, and he MAY be good enough to be the 8th mid for the rest of the year... so missing Cotchin is not the end of the world. But are Hinkley and Kennedy both useless???
