Just some of the journos on twitter were giving off the vibe that he’s more unlikely than likely. And I like to jump to conclusions.
Somebody mentioned on the SC board that Ch9 in Adelaide were saying doubtful....IDGAF cos he's still in my team along with Zilliams, Danger, and the rest of the flogs that call themselves premos

To play football

Although he is a leadership player, just like Rockliff is. Part of the reason I'm reading nothing into To my flying over ..
I didn't think he had played all year...says how closely I watch the magpies.

The only time ive seen him has been on the hill at the parade a few weeks back

Has been playing okay football the past couple weeks in the SANFL. 20 and 1 type stuff. Obviously back him to replicate it in the AFL though where it's probably more impressive.

Tempting to bring in Gardner over Hinge. Scoring will be putrid but the dogs must rate him, surely he plays throughout the byes. JS is all that matters

Ross > Baker
Bray > Whit

Spewing I got Macrae in last week when I could have picked anyone... Probs gunna be regretting that for the rest of the season

Hartlett on the plane better not be replacing Broadbent. Would be typical though considering I brought Broadbent in last week. Thought Broadbent played ok...certainly doesn't deserve to be dropped but Hartlett is probably ahead of him in the pecking order. Just praying that Broadbent can last at least until his bye, or even play through the byes.

I am absolutely cooked for the byes, just too many non-playing rookies on every line, will be hard to avoid a doughnut.

Scrimshaw
Hayes
Atley
Fort probably dropped this week but doesn't matter with his bye being the same as Gawn/Grundy

Should probably invest trades in fixing up those non-playing rookies but Whit is must-have and Rocky probably won't play. Hope Hayes somehow gets named with Wallis out for a while

At this rate I'll be bringing in Harley Bennell at 236k after Freo's round 12 bye. He'll probably get hurt but hopefully he's good for a few games for cash gen. There's nothing out there at the moment.
That's the big problem. Might have to be some mid pricers coming in for a few weeks. Can't believe I'm saying that but I've already done it with Perryman and if rookie options don't improve there may be more.

Took a couple of weeks away from BigFooty after a few sad scores. But I'm trying to get over that; I actually had so far been focusing on building cash (thanks a bloody lot for your help Gus and Macrae), so now it's time to start cashing in and maybe things are looking up.

This week I can pick basically anyone I want.

I'm extremely tempted to get Jelly, but his injury history puts me off (he's almost as good to watch as Cripps though). Other options: Zerrett, Cripps (probably better post-bye though), Laird, Dusty (very tempting), and Gaff [edit: or Taranto...Zorko...? I don't have the courage to consider Fiorini].

Who else should I be looking at?

In terms of a final team, I already have:

- Whit and Lloyd down back (plus Brodie Smith and Guthrie, either of whom could conceivably survive long-term as M6s)
- the Crouch Bros, Yeo (<3), Rocky, and Macrae and Gus (may as well keep them now) in the middle
- Grundy and ROB as rucks (ROB -> Gawn in a few weeks, or earlier if Jacobs actually pushes him out)
- Boak, Telly, Dunks, and Danger as forwards.

If my rank wasn't so bad I might actually like my team!

[Edit: my bye balance is actually pretty good right now but obvs that's also a factor!

And if Mrouch or Rocky or Danger are out that probably matters too.]

Anyone got ROB and Mumford at R2 and R3? What are your current plans ?

I was actually running with Mummy at R2 until last week, had the same dilemma, decided that I had more faith in ROB and so cashed Mummy in (downgraded to Ladhams who moved to R3) which also allowed me to do Williams -> Whit.

I'd suggest you do something similar this week (I doubt that any of the cheap rucks are long-term options, but they should help for now), then ROB -> Gawndy (whoever you don't have) post-bye.

Brutal. :(

IDK what's wrong with him. I know he's playing forward more but sometimes it seems like with Brayshaw his teammates have (for some unknown reason) bumped him down the pecking order. (Neither of them figured in Freako's round 10 total handball received top tens, and I can't find a newer record--I'd like to see a top 25 or so, or just where they are in comparison rn vs themselves last season; is there a public site with handballs received records?*)

* I'm stupid so it took me a long time to think to check the AFL website itself but I did and they also don't seem to have it?

So we’re all thinking Dustys back?
All? No. Not me, not ever (again) ;)

At/after the round 6 DPP announcements I picked E.Curnow over Heeney & Martin (couldn't afford Kelly) so my choice hasn't been much better.
1 tonne first up, a 45, couple of 90's and a bit of cash lost but iirc it was an upgrade on Powell anyway.

why the F would syd draft another ruc (knoll) when they have Darcy cameron killing it in the 2's ???

quick note on Ryan Gardner. hes 198cm tall, mature and big bodied - quote:
"
Sam Power said: “There’s no pressure on him to be ready right now, but he was in the system for three years at Geelong and has been in our VFL system, so he’s physically ready to play at the right time. It was one of the needs we identified, and balancing our needs with the talent coming through. Given Tom’s (Boyd) retirement as well, we felt it was important to bring a key position onto the list.”

Goldy had a field day against the dogs last week and English looked cooked.
that should give you an idea of the type of role he'l be playing in the side.

I'm optimistic that Gardner playing for the dogs this week will push Crae back to the guts... here's hoping. He felt safe as houses with his lowest scores still being high 90s... that went well for me haha

Doing a double downgrade this week. Scrim and Petru out. Hinge in and would like to go Gardner but he's not listed yet, so have a placeholder of Butts for the time being (yeh, I'm that mature).

Gives me $375k in the kitty.

First week of byes is always the hardest. Can't bring in guys who are missing and don't want to bring in anyone who's missing in the following two weeks. Reckon I'll do another 2 down and 1 up next week, then the following week I can do 1 down and 2 up. My issue at the moment though is that nearly my entire bench has a round 13 bye, but there aren't any better rooks to choose.
