Trades Round 11 trades.

I don't have Rockliff and I'm at my wits end trying to deal with Danger, Williams and Crouch....should have traded the lot of them out like most of the top teams have done.....I don't like trading out (so called) premos with short term injuries, had to trade Smith but he's a LTI. Bit me on the arse for 2 weeks now, haven't dropped in the rankings, but I've fallen further behind the leaders

That would be interesting.

That would be such a stupid move on behalf of the Blues, if they brought him back for a few games where the season was well and truly over. Give him a chance to have some extra recovery time, full pre-season, and no chance of recurrence. Imagine if he did another ACL...he'd be under 300K in 2021, lmao

Enough rocky talk!

Is dusty back? 620k with a nice Rd14 bye, could he average 95-100 from here on in?
1 more forward for me and Dusty is certainly in the calcs, especially considering he is only 5 points off the average of the top players who I haven't got when considering he's having the poorest season he's had for a while. Even if he's average from here on in, he might be 5 or 10 points off my other options like Mundy, Ebert etc . If he flys back in to form he'll be 10+ points better off

Despite not owning Grundy I had actually made a pretty good run of it recently, moving up from 25,000th in round four to around the 5000th mark at the end of last week.

This week it all went pear shaped very, very quickly.

Made a Friday afternoon decision after about 4 pints to change my trades that I had locked in all week in Williams and Scrimshaw to Baker and Yeo, and instead went Duursma and Williams to Whitfield and Bewley. Couldn't afford Whitfield by getting rid of Scrimshaw but 4 pint me thought that what can go wrong with fielding Scrimshaw for a week and then swinging Whitfield into defence next week.

Next minute Duursma pumps out 99 which I very well knew he was capable of and Scrimshaw gets injured.

Added to that Rockliff gets injured meaning there is very little chance of me being able to swing Whitfield to defence next week which compounds the Scrimshaw injury/Duursma trade out.

Every man and his dog had Grundy as captain and as I don't own him I went for a risky choice in Macrae. God knows what I was thinking but while most were celebrating 300pts I was looking at about 150. All my own fault as 4 pint me was not used to seeing Whitfield in my team so didn't even think of putting him Captain.

My best rookie picks in Miers and Rozee combined for about 100pts, Oliver copped the obvious tag etc etc.

Blew out from 5,000th to 10,000th in one week due to poor decision making which has undone about 5 weeks of good decision making.

I am seriously considering holding Rockliff this week unless a definitive timeline of injury comes out obviously, and instead doing a double downgrade.

Scrimshaw to Hinge
Hayes to Baker

Works for my bye structure and gets rid of two rookies in Hayes and Scrimshaw who may be out during the byes.
So overall a good week for you

Newnes to Dusty is the no brainer for me this week.. Whitfield be damned (Maybe)
Before teams and carnage, there are 3 to do items on my agenda
1. Get rid of Newnes
2. Upgrade O'Brien to Gawn
3. Upgrade Walsh

Will probably do at least one of them this week. Would be difficult to do 2 with only 140k

Thinking with Rocky maybe playing and only a short-term issue, and as I'm already ranked outside the top 10K at 14K, might as well just buck the trend and go against the grain and not get Whit this weekend. Will regret it, but allows me to get Dusty and Cogs in, for Constable and Walsh. Double rook upgrade, with 60K left over. Seems like a better option than a sideways trade and an upgrade. Completes my midfield and I can just get in Whit next week with the 3 trades (can swap Duurs and Lockhart with Clark on field if Rocky doesn't look like getting up this week)

Means my side looks like this:

Why Coniglio this week?
Poor score on the weekend, high break even @ 152, (waiting on a bionic hand?)and I heard he picked up another injury on the weekend hence doing nothing in the last quarter (1 handball). Corked thigh or something..
I won't go near him for a while and traded him to Gaff with that hand injury weeks ago.
3 tackles is a good sign after zero the game before but surely he's not at rock bottom yet.

Hasn't been listed on any injury list anywhere right now, so it looks like it was just precautionary that they took him off. Copped the corkie earlier on in the match and then went to the bike throughout the game to keep it warm. One of my favourite players, so just love watching him

Could still change though, as everything you've mentioned I've definitely considered

With Dusty / Danger in the Mids you have 7 fwds. Planning for 1 of them to be a F7/M9 type (Dahl), or will one be upgraded to a gun mid ?

Boak's in there too, haha. Planning to move Dahl and Balta/Atkins, Billings/Worpel over/after the byes on, throw Danger, Dusty and Boak forward, and then bring in those 3 mids over the byes/after the byes

He's done his ACL in the pre season last two seasons, not in general play, I think the thinking is:
1. he's a competitor and he wants to be out there, if he's good to go why hold him back; and
2. he's done his ACL in the pre-seaosn two years in a row, the second of which was obviously after missing 12 months of football, it could be good for his confidence to get out there and play a game or two before the pre season and get a run into the legs so he's not constantly thinking, **** if i take a wrong step here I could be done again - during the pre season 2020 that is.

Team prior to trades looks like this (yes horrible, I know), so many poor areas that need fixing, but going to hold my premos that have been horrible and hold those with injury concerns in the hope that long term I will benefit.

There are a few ruck rookies currently on offer and I would like to downgrade Mumford, but im really worried about ROB getting dropped for Sauce, so I think I will hold Mummy as a back up option till his bye even if he does bleed a little cash. Melbourne board seems pretty happy with Oscar Baker and seem confident in his JS moving forward, I think I will bring him in. As much as I want to dump Brayshaw that 53 point second half where apparently he spent some time on the inside gives me hope that he might get his chance again, especially with Jones breaking his nose. Drew currently isn't losing me cash, and if he gets his chance again I think he will cover his BE with ease, so that's a hold for me.

With Rozee and Scrimshaw probably set to lose a bit of cash in the coming weeks I think they are the two that I should move on. Rozee would allow me to move Dunkley to the forward line and I can use Answerth to swing back into defence to allow me to bring in another mid.

So what I am currently looking at doing is:
Rozee to Baker via Dunkley
Scrimshaw to any mid vis Answerth

In the coming weeks I have a lot to work on with the defence, hopefully I can get a more consistent output from Guthrie and Witherden, and Perryman can continue to pump out 80s for the time being. Hoping some good options present for a triple downgrade next week as plenty of players are beginning to peak.

Yeah those are both really fair points, especially the second one. Good call :)

Hopefully he plays one game, plays 60% time on ground, gets through unscathed and scores 68. We'd get a nice little discount of 30% on that, pricing him at 48, which would mid 300s?

I'm just afraid that fantasy would do something stupid if he played no game and price him at a 30% average of his last score, i.e like 80-90 just to be bastards.

Apparently Wallis and Crozier will be out for the Dogs this week, and each could be out for a couple of weeks.

Does this mean Hayes is a lock to come back in?

For those wondering Hayes was one of the leading ball winers for the Doggies with 21 touches in the twos
Certainly a chance albeit perhaps not like for likes.

My money is on Wallis, Crozier out...Dickson, Young in

For what it's worth; I just got an email coming from the club. The headline reads "Rocky to be assessed in China"

Like I suspected, journalists clammering over each other for the story first. Certainly watch this space.

For all the verified tweets saying his hammy is okay, there's just as many saying the opposite.

Bit of Eastern Mysticism will get him right.

Yeah, screw that. That's a bit different to 'cleared to play.' That makes my mind up for me. Have to trade. They'll stick him in the forward pocket and he'll lose money anyway, if he does play.

Am curious though that that the assistant coach stated that he ran today and 'pulled up well'?
