Not playing for league. My aim is to win the DT Talk leagues comp. If i was playing for finals it would be advisable to have about 4 (i don't know from experience because I have always gone for overall).

Im trading in Mackie this week. Dont care that hes expensive got a fair chunk in the bank. Not sure who to trade out of Wona and Mattner though. Backs currently sit at:

Would love to keep Wona as a playing reserve, but Pfeiffer hasnt risen enough to upgrade yet. I reckon he will get a fair few more games in by years end too.

• centre emgs - browne,(166k) dempsey - 1 playing
• forwards emgs - stokes(130k) sellar - 0 playing

weaknesses in team are

• myers (152k)
• rioli (262k)

other info

• 8trades, 100k in bank
• chornes 385k and 130k more than myers (including my bank)
• chapman 377k and 104 k more than rioli. (including my bank)
• b wilkes 72k (back)
• valenti 72k (centre/forward)

big trade will either be rioli to probably chapman or myers to chornes.

i thought myers to chornes was easily better but now not so sure.
considering chornes price drop there is also the issue of trading down proud and stokes instead of just browne to afford the swap which would also give me a playing emergency in every area but, after geting chornes, would leave me 5 trades left for which 2 would be used to upgrade rioli but would only need to use the 3 for long term injuries with playing emergencies.

please help. i set it out nicely so it can be argued by all. cheers

Kreuzer -> Cox seems to waste too much money, just get Hille whos around 300k with be of 30s.

yes. 2 downgrades this week then myer to chad in 1 or 2 weeks.
or i could do 1 downgrade and 1 upgrade in 1 to 2 weeks and have no playing emergencies in back or forward line but have 6 trades instead of 5.

Here's my team so far with about $40K in the bank...

I've got 6 trades left but I'd be lucky to crack the top 1000. So I figure I should just go for the highest score possible and just roll the dice and hope I won't be plagued with injuries. I'm not too concerned with my league games either as I'm playing fairly low scoring teams for the rest of the season and I'm playing against randoms, not mates.

I was thinking for this week:
OUT: Houli, Ebert
IN: D.Armfield, Richo

then next week:
OUT: Masten, Hurn
IN: Cheap Rookie, Mackie

Thus leaving me with two trades. Then I'd just sit on them for most of the rest of the season and hope for no injuries. Then providing those injuries don't occur jump on a deal with Palmer, Rioli or Taylor somewhere down the track.

So the question I'm asking is; Apart from not making any trades at all, what better course of action could I take in terms of pick ups? Maybe set my sights for someone cheaper than Richo (Riewoldt/Chapman perhaps)?

With your team it'd be wise not to get the absolute best so you can get an extra upgrade or two. Look to the cheaper ones like Riewoldt instead of Richo, McLeod instead of Mackie. Will save you 100k each so you don't waste another trade

Would you recommend McLeod? Even at that price he still looks a bit iffy. Especially taking the last 5 or so weeks scores into account.

Reason I was looking at Richo was due to a number of reasons;
1- After Didak (who I already have) he's the leading rank forward
2- I can rely on him to score big
3- Richmond play Melbourne round 22 (DT GFinal - which even though I said I didn't care about, if I get there it'd be nice to walk away with the prize this time. Having come runner up the last 2 years...)
4- I have no one representing Richmond (I like to have a good spread, but not always for the sake of it)

I am prepared to go for Riewoldt instead of Richo though. It's just the lack of guns scoring well consistantly in the backs department that has me leaning towards Mackie.

If you trade Ebert to Riewoldt and then upgrade Taylor and Hurn? I'm not sure of all their prices but maybe you could get McLeod and then the best other backman that you don't have. You really don't want Taylor as a permanent backman. EDIT: I was posting this when stormer posted their suggestion so we were both thinking the same thing. I think mcleod will get better even if he doesn't get a huge average. maybe just do the calculation of total points gained based on estimated averages

I have 11 trades and 16k in the bank.
Im thinking of doing leuenberger --> 72k ruck &
rioli --> gia/medhurst/lids/aker/other
after that I will trade two other emergencies when they peak and upgrade cotchin/browne/geary to a premium.
what do you guys think I should do? at the moment I am thinking rioli-->gia
