ESSENDON BOMBERS

AhahahahahahAHHAAHAHAHahahahHAHAHA.
It's only a rivalry if it goes both ways, Norf.
The Bombers put their foot on the gas from the opening bounce, and Norf were never really in it from that point onwards.
The Dons eased off on the third quarter but put the foot down again in the fourth, coming away with a massive 72-point win against their closest neighbours.
Darcy Parish has stamped his authority as the in-form midfielder in the competition, with another enormous effort including 36 touches and 11 clearances, at a remarkable efficiency.
Joining him was Andy McGrath and Zach Merrett with 31 touches each, the former hitting the target 100% of the time.
Nick Hind and Mason Redman are proving that the loss of McKenna and Saad last year was no great loss; their performances have by and large been even better than their predecessors, and their movement on the rebound off half-back is a joy to behold.
Andrew Phillips celebrated his 50th game - a milestone which took nine and a half years to reach - with a goal and a solid performance against Todd Goldstein, who was lucky to escape suspension after king hitting Peter Wright.
There's no shortage of scoring chances for the Dons; this is the first time since Sheedy was coaching that we've had two 70+ point wins, and it's only Round 11.
Harry Jones, Peter Wright, and Walla all managed to pop up with three goals each, whilst Waterman, Cox and Hooker all grabbed braces.
It was good to see a vintage David Zaharakis performance too; he has been way off the boil for the past couple of seasons, but he was genuinely very good last week.
Lol norf.

WEST COAST EAGLES

The Eagles are starting to get a reputation, and it's not a good one.
Whilst they routinely batter teams at home, they expose themselves in a huge way on the road.
This was the Eagles' fourth loss on the road this season, with their only away win coming against Hawthorn at the MCG a few weeks ago.
An undermanned GWS side got the better of the Eagles over in NSW, which has left them clinging onto the eight nearing the halfway point of the season.
Darling, Kennedy, and Oscar Allen were all kept to one goal each, leaving small forwards Jamie Cripps and Jack Petruccelle to step up with two each.
Naitanui is continuing to cement himself as the premier ruck in the competition, with eight clearances, thirteen contested touches, and six tackles to go with his 34 hitouts.

An odd choice to be rested considering how well he's been playing, but you need to be careful with the younger bodies. I thought we would have seen Archie Perkins get a rest, or even Cale Hooker, but resting Harry Jones does also make sense. Brayden Ham drops out of the side as an unused medical sub, whilst Jake Stringer has overcome his hamstring injury in a significantly shorter time frame than what was first expected. This is a huge in for Essendon, as Stringer's power and pure aggression at the centre bounces interchanged with his stays in the forward line is a weapon for which no team has a counter.

The Eagles have dropped both Harry Edwards and the lesser Waterman brother Jake for being the genetic inferior of our very own brick shithouse, Alec. Unfortunately for Essendon, two-time best and fairest winner Elliot Yeo is now fit and will return to senior level after spending last week in the WAFL.

Piss.

The Tip.jpg

Whilst we're playing some solid footy with plenty of goals, we're a little bit leaky in the back, and that triple threat of Kennedy, Darling, and Allen is terrifying. I don't think the West Coast reputation of being flat-track bullies will be going anywhere though, with the home-ground advantage looking to be a deciding factor. We'll get done, but I think it will be closer than many expect.

West Coast by 11.

I logged in to pre-empt a Dean Margetts lead WCE win but have been beaten to the the punch by several esteemed observers.
Alternatively, I could please the observers by punching DM, hitting him with a Log allowing us to beat WCE and raising my self esteem.

Does anyone know what that article about james hird is about father son?
