Why this constant undervaluing of Shiels? He is and has always been one of the most consistent players we have.

Oh, nothing to do with his career. I respect him probably more than most of our premiership heroes. He's the ultimate role player. When talking with mates on stars, and spuds, he's always widely acknowledged of what it means to be a really consistent, good AFL midfielder.

With that said... his past 18 months are not that. I actually didn't say Howe, as I think he is providing more right now in that role... Shiels is getting smashed on the spread sadly.

Has ability needs to add a little physicality to his game. Needs to except a solid tackle as much as lay a solid tackle.

That's what stood out to me in his most recent Box Hill games. Disposes the ball or doesn't take possession to avoid contact when he could draw contact and take an opponent out of the play. He'll go up a level when he learns to take contact.

It's John Kennedy Jr on 241 games.

How in the hell is TOB and Howe still getting a game ...... at 2-9 should be trying to find new players that grab their opportunities with both hands, that take us into the future.
