Round 13 Rising Star

After attending Melbourne versus GWS, I think it's safe to say there's a fair bit of competition for this week's nomination.

Adam Treloar: 26 disposals (nine contested) at 81% DE, five marks, five inside 50s, 99 SC points
Taylor Adams: 24 disposals (nine contested) at 75% DE, six tackles, seven clearances, four inside 50s, one goal, 97 SC points
Tom McDonald: 26 disposals (fourteen contested) at 73% DE, four marks, four rebound 50s, 101 SC points
Jamie Elliot: 15 disposals (eight contested) at 67% DE, nine marks (four contested), four tackles, 96 SC points
Christian Howard: 25 disposals (seven contested) at 72% DE, four inside 50s, five rebound 50s, 88 SC points
Tom Campbell: 11 disposals (seven contested) at 91% DE, four marks (two contested), five clearances, 28 hitouts, 89 SC points

What do you guys think?

Probably Jamie Elliott from COL, had a mammoth last qtr to help the pies win in a big match.

Not to discredit Melb or GWS, but I think the game last night had a fair bit more intensity and Elliott was very good.

Would also like our boy Brennan to get a nomination this year, think he's been very good in each game played.

I think that looking for nominations amongst teams playing either GWS or GC maybe is misleading? By all means if a player has played many good games at a high level and a match against these teams ices the cake but....anyway, I am probably in the minority here.

I am just kind of over the extent to which the deliberate initial crapness of these two franchses compromises the integrty of every part of the competition. The draw, the draft, the rising star award.....just meh.

As well as Howard and Campbell played, they're almost no chance considering the result from the game.

McDonald and Elliot are strong shouts, probably Elliot considering the impact of his performance.

Tom McDonald, and its not even up for debate.

Absolutely SMASHED that overrated Patton kid.

Tommy Mac is the best young key defender in the league, and his emergence has allowed us to move Rivers and Garland forward. Exciting times, and great coaching by Neeld.
Dylan Grimes? Daniel Talia? Jake Carlisle? there is 3 off the top of my head who are better then McDonald.

This is the best example you can come up with? This is deemed abuse?

T-Mac did do a number on Patton today after he looked dangerous early. I don't think it's outrageous to say he's the most promising key defender for his age. He sees a fair amount of the ball and whilst his kicking lets him down now and then he has been excellent for several weeks now. Held some big names to account and has saved our bacon as the last man on more than one occasion.

TMac deserves it and will win :D
