Well for us to win we always have to be a minimum 4 goal better team.

Tonight we were only a 3 goal better team.

The VFL Umpires when it comes to the crunch always have this cheating mechanism that they are incapable of being strong enough of character to ignore.

Disgusting.

Ok , so I get you guys prob don't like us Lions types but we had a pre-season "Roar Deal" function where Fages was the guest speaker.

He actually said(off the record) that "Interstate" teams have to be a 4 goal better side to win in Melbourne for "obvious reasons".

I'll let myself out now

I’m with ya! I’m always hopefully we get a result but we NEEDED TO GET A RESULT.

Shambles absolute shambles and the blame is on us
St Kilda are ****ing garbage, that is our worse loss of the year by a mile. Played down to their shit, got pantsed by a 4th rate midfield. Dimma has not impressed me at all so far.

Walter will be a good player but over the last 3 games he's kicked 0 goals and averaged less than 4 disposals a game - we are playing 1 short... throw in Holman and we are effectively playing with 2 players that don't look like scoring up forward.

If this is the best we could do in a must win game against a team thats season is shot then better luck next year.
Jed will be great but he has played like 3 good quarters for the year. He isn't ready. Let Sam Day play, he has given us way more.

.

I ask the question because I’m yet to see what the answer is
“What is Jed Walter good at?”
He’s a boy/man mountain who obviously spent the past 2 years beating up on little kids
Is he a contested marker?
A lead out forward?
He gives the impression he knows where the goals are at least
But surely he needs to play a lot of VFL to learn how to play on men and not just be a wrecking ball
I hope he’ll be a good player for us in the future but at the moment Day or Casboult please

Been saying the same thing all year on here Sandy. You can see he will be a jet but he is nowhere near the level.

I know Dimma has said playing 1 game of AFL is worth 12 games of VFL experience so I get why he is playing him. The problem is he's unbalancing the whole forward line.

It looks like we are trying to have one eye to the future and trying to still win games now ... not sure there is an obvious replacement... Bring in Rodgers or Rosas and get a bit more dangerous?

Seriously, the Aints should be embarrassed to have won that.

Got home on the back of some blatantly biased VFL umpiring.

The match deciding free was the softest of the whole game and probably one of the softest of the entire season.

Imagine losing a Final or even a GF on the back such an atrocity.

If a "big" Victorian club lost a game like that their supporters would tear down the grandstands

When one team is playing a park the bus stodgy defence based game and can win the game off the back of 2 contentious frees it’s hard to swallow
But if we think we’re good enough to play finals the answer is we’re not if we’re getting beaten by that team we played tonight

Humphrey also only getting 3 touches as well is frustrating.

He’s a very very long way off it
Holman Walter Humphrey Fiorini are deadweights at the moment
Our mids got nullified again
I thought Moyle played well but maybe Witts does distribute better
Witts and Powell improve the side
Day and Rosas in too?

It will not happen this year. Our line-up is way too inexperienced and struggles on the road. Terrible start again, lost clearances, contested possessions.

That first half was unwatchable from both teams. Not impressed by Dimma lowering to RTB plan. Just shocking footy. Criticize Dew game plan.

We did lift in second half.

As usual on the road 3-4 goals by umpires. Some shocking calls.

Collins is unbelievable. Uwland and Graham impressed again. Moyle was getting better as game progressed. Mac can turn into superstar.

Humphrey very disappointing.

Forward pressure disappointing.

Midfield got to be better on the road.

The umpire was 100m away.

But the umpires calls went both ways all night and, ultimately, can’t be controlled.

What can be controlled is putting pressure on. What can be controlled is not stopping and avoiding any kind of movement. What can be controlled are dump kicks inside 50.

We want to play finals, then we win these games. Simple.

Now we have to win a game we shouldn’t to break even.

Family in Town so i forked out $400 so we could get good seats at the footy. Ended up having a front row view to the most diabolical call in history

I don't contain rioting...but would almost like to see a big more feralness from the fans when stuff like this happens. Sure there are more important things than footy, but just to keep them on their toes so they don't think they can get away with anything.

And I’ll also add, I’m sick of hearing about pressure forwards and they are honestly overrated if they can’t also set up goals and kick goals themselves.

In a low scoring game, only Long looked lively. 2-3 more players presenting and we kick 20 more points.

Plus, Saints just waltzed it out most of the game. So what are these pressure forwards doing? I’ll tell you. Being too slow to catch them.

Get some pace in and open up our forward line.

While yes, some shocking umpiring decisions -- and Saints find a way to bring you down to their level, but the stagnant ball movement in the first half. The kicking, the bombing inside 50.. just did the forwards no favours.

The cheer squad was a vibe though, that was fun, after I moved from my spot behind the players bench.
