Looks like it's gonna rain in Perth on Saturday and I'll be there at Optus Stadium for the first time. Question for the locals or those that have visited before. How's the rain cover in the top sections? This precious Shinboner is used to a retractable roof.

I dunno mate. I get a feeling we'll win either way.
Mate minus 3 of their best players and Reid being tagged for a half, they just lost to the Saints by 14 points.
Who did us by 39 a month ago m.

All 3 sides are not much chop but considering we lost there last year to an inferior team and Waterman comes back this week, I can’t see where this confidence comes from.

You might be confusing confidence with hope.

No need for the delusional line champ. I'll stick with hope and law of averages.
Its more on my part TD

I fully expect West Coast to come out and make a statement early on Saturday and get the crowd involved.
We'll be lucky to keep it to under 40 points.

I hope Im wrong but 0 & 11 says otherwise.

Every single team has scored over 100 points against us and we have only scored 80+ twice this year. We barely can score over 60 points lately. I think we have only won one game after a bye, since it was implemented years ago. WC are a much more motivated team that us plus add in home ground advantage.

I highly doubt the group was made to train harder, hit the gym etc over the break lol I hope we win but i still think we will be win-less this year

I agree with you, H, I think we’ll be winless this year too. However, I, also, think we will improve as the season goes on. If we do that, we should snag a victory or two… and still walk away with Pick 1.

I doubt he comes straight in but if he does then this is why we'd have Test Me Elmo in this weekend.

In the first three games we needed one more point to average exactly 80 per game. Then CCJ did his leg and we have scored over 80 once - 81 against Adelaide.

We mostly score in the 60s but we have one or two results in the 40s and same in the 50s.

Since we lost the gum tree we've been worse up forward. And there were times when CCJ would actually impede Larkey's run at the ball so even tho we scored higher with him he directly impeded our ability to score goals. We should have scored more!!

So if Teakle is just a little bit more competent and mobile then hopefully we a get a few more goals from structure and then the ones CCJ didn't ruin as well. Could be worth two to four goals, maybe even more if the forward line can develop some synergy by the end of the year.

After each game, I tend to go down the “delusional” path. However, I’m usually over it by Monday. It’s hard listening to Clarko’s post-match interviews because there’s only so much you can say when you’re losing constantly. I look elsewhere for signs of hope. I heard Sam Mitchell talk about why the Hawks have improved and become more competitive lately. He said it was all about the players getting used to playing together, their roles and the structure of the team. Once that starts to click, the outcome changes dramatically. Just look at the Demons last weekend to see what happens when a good team loses its structure. The difference between being one of the flag favourites and being a basket case can be very little. This is the area that Clarko and the coaches, I’m sure, are focusing on.

We will lose by between 6-9 goals depending on how accurately West Coast and we are. On average I assume they will generate 10-12 additional scores over the 4 quarters.

from where we are any win is likely to feel like it came from no where.

Hopefully the bye was a bit of a break and circuit breaker and we can give it a decent crack on the weekend.

Co-captain Jy Simpkin is likely to return to North Melbourne's line-up for Saturday's game against West Coast, having overcome a quad strain.

Simpkin last featured in Round 8 against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium, but this week cleared markers set by the performance team for his return.

The Roos will hope to welcome back the two-time Syd Barker medallist not just for his on-field leadership but his running power, with Rising Star nominee Colby McKercher to miss again with bone stress.

West Coast forward Jake Waterman is a test to return against North Melbourne on Saturday, but star midfielder Tim Kelly has been ruled out of a second-straight match.

He looks like the sort of player that would absolutely bully our backline, reminds me hauntingly of Fraser Gherig who seemed to always kick bags against us.

Yeah good mate the top section is pretty well covered it’s just the sunlight (if we get any) that burns one wing section of the crowd.

Terrible to watch day games on that wing on a very sunny day..

In all seriousness though the stars are aligning for us to have our first win.

If we lose badly questions will rightfully be asked.
