Surprised to see we've blown out to $2.14 underdogs in this game. Blind faith from the Blues fans?

I can’t see it being a very big crowd. Carlton fans are right off them I’m predicting 25/30k
Perfect. We've done some of our best work in front of crowds under 30k.

FWIW I think around 40k will show up and if they do it'll be the biggest crowd we've played in front of this year.

A question for the Melbourne suns fans I'm looking at tickets for this game, am I best just buying GA? I see some seats in section m32 but don't want to be in the middle of a sea of blue haha.

Mac Andrew and Ned Moyle join experienced trio Sam Day, Brandon Ellis and Alex Sexton on the extended interchange.

Jy Farrar is the only confirmed change to the team, out omitted for the match at the MCG on Sunday.

Last week’s substitute Bodhi Uwland will also play in the VFL after missing squad selection.

Also on the extended interchange is Bailey Humphrey, Rory Atkins and Alex Davies.

The interchange will be trimmed to four at 5pm on Friday once the final team is announced.

Soooooo
North pull an upset over Footscray
GES get up over Freo and we beat Carlton
Come Sunday night that scenario has us…
Well……you know what I’m saying
Halfway through the season
But I’m not going to say it

With curnow, McKay, De koning and pittonet I was thinking that Mac may get selected.

Although if it’s due to pour rain I hope they don’t.
shower or two, most likely in the morning. But this is melbourne; expect the unexpected lol

The Dogs play after us on Sunday so the outcome we're all wanting may occur temporarily anyway. I think GWS are a huge chance to beat Freo at Giants Stadium on Saturday arvo so the main concern for me is really us beating Carlton. Having said that, it would be really nice to end the round with a Dogs loss as well but don't forget the Bulldogs have played one extra game than us and have the bye next week so even if we don't get ahead of them this week, the opportunity may exist next week.

FYI it's been almost 9 years exactly since this has happened this late in the season. We've been waiting a long time!

Got to start well.

They get an early sniff and the crowd will drive them along.

We get on too early and they will go into their shell.

Can’t have a repeat of the last 2 games q1

The extended bench named on Thursday afternoon has been trimmed to four players with versatile defender Mac Andrew set to return to AFL action against the Blues. He’ll be joined by young duo Bailey Humphrey and Alex Davies as well as Rory Atkins on the interchange.

Ned Moyle, Sam Day, Brandon Ellis and Alex Sexton have been named as the four emergencies with one to be named as the SUNS substitute an hour before the first bounce.

For my preview I can't see how Carlton get the job done. No way you can predict that they will kick straight and if we can get enough inside 50s the Suns forwards should have the advantage over underwhelming Blues D.
The Suns have to be well-drilled on turnover to avoid getting punished on the wide expanse of the G. A real test for Dew
If we are a serious side we win.

My main concern is - Can Suns after bye bring the same intensity like in Darwin? Suns did play decent game last year after bye so I hope they now know how to prepare. Players should be also motivated. Suns usually also miss a lot of opportunities like Carlton. Hopefully confidence helps but it's away game, umpires will give them calls, goals. Suns can't afford to start slow like in Darwin and give Carlton 20-30 points head start.

Weitering usually gets better of King.

I actually think that Suns play well on bigger grounds (Heritage, Optus) and will be able to spread Carlton, there will be some holding the possessions, chipping around.

Pity Weller is not ready, his kicking would be handy.

If we bring the intensity/contest and get ahead in the middle, we win.

Hopefully they bring something extra given its Ballard's 100th.

A win here would set things up well. But Carlton will throw everything at this game.

I've cleared my calendar (changed plans to see a movie with friends to Saturday instead) to attend this game.

Carlton are playing for their season here if you really think about it. If they lose this one it will require them to win 8 of their last 9 games to hit the 12.5 win mark that should qualify them for the finals and that's going to be near impossible with games against top 4 teams Port Adelaide, Collingwood and Melbourne to come. Truth be told their season is probably already done but there's always that little bit of hope that motivates teams when they are where Carlton are currently.

You might be watching a horror movie if all goes wrong tomorrow! Have a bad feeling about this game but if we are serious this is a must win. My PTSD is kicking in badly...

Has all the markings of a poor loss.
Coming off a bye, against a team that has been slaughtered in the media so the young players could easily go in expecting a soft win, away from home, and Carlton surely have to fight back at some point.

In saying that, this group has stood up the last few times I’ve expected them to falter, so I have to have some faith in them.

With Bris and Freo losing in Rd13, and Geelong in Rd14.......that's 3 from 3 losing after their bye....
(Syd v St K in Rd13 both after the bye, so 1 of them had to lose)
