Round 17 Trades

The majority of us will be playing there best team next week because Port have the bye. Next week I will have 13 players in my starting 22 that have no byes left. They are Franklin, Riewoldt, Swan, Pendlebury, I Smith, Shaw, Suckling, Cox, S Thompson, Ablett, Pavlich, Sylvia and Puopolo.

The players still to have their bye are Judd, Gibbs, Scotland, Boyd, Heppell, Deledio, Goodes, S Johnson and Goldstein.

On my bench I have Puopolo (no Bye), Brodie Smith (no Bye) Luke Thompson (no Bye) Ben Jacobs (bye next week) Mzungu and Callinan (both have no more byes) Zac Smith (no bye) Lobbe (bye next week) Darling, Prestia and Lynch who all have had there byes.

Barring Injury I think I have a enough cover despite only having one trade left. Puopolo, Smith, Jacobs, Mzungu, Callinan, Z Smith and Prestia are all capable of covering players who have had the bye in my opinion.

No doubt I would like to have more trades, with a couple really screwing me. Goddard to L Thompson and Curnow to Watson were the disasters.

Hey guys need some help as to which position i should upgrade out mids, fwds or backs??? I am going for League Win!
I have 6 trades left with 235k, i had 7 trades just before but i traded out Duigan who had been awesome cash cow for tailia to free up some cash for me to upgrade.

Here is my team:

Backs: Gibbs, Scotland Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Heppell, Adcock :Lower, Puopolo, Talia

Mids: Murphy, Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Illes: Hibberd, Callinan, Harris

Rucks: Cox, Sandi: Smith, Bailey

Fwds: Franklin, Chapman, Goodes, Fyfe, Sylvia, Riewoldt, Mzungu: Howe, Lynch, Richardson

Looking at either:

Illes to Bartel
Illes to Redden, Thompson, Rockliff, Thomas, (Shiels or Mitchell next week)
Harris or Hibberd to Bartel

Which one would be the better option out of these??

Backs:

Lower, Puopolo or Adcock to Suckling, Birchall, Fisher or Enright

???

Fwds:

Mzungu or Howe to Pavlich, OKeefe, S Johnson, Cloke???

Soo which one is best for this week??
Also I may have to keep either Adcock or Mzungu as a keeper as i dont have enough trades for 3 more upgrades

If you are going for the league win i'd go Illes to Redden, he is a dt gun this year and adds a unique pick to your team

I need to make at least one, maybe two backlin upgrades to complete my team. How do you rank these upgrade targets?
Suckling, Fisher, HShaw, Birchall

Personally I have them in that order, does anyone think otherwise?
I'm going for a league win so I'm kinda putting value on consistency and a favorable draw. Although If I go to Suckling/Fisher I'll probably be waiting a week or two, whereas I could get Shaw this week...decisions

I know you said Bye doesn't matter but I'd take Scott Thompson out of the rest with no bye.

Tough one. Adcock has the higher ceiling but can score terribly. Puopolo will knock out 60-70 every week. Probably Adcock.

Keeping Mzungu also has the added benefit that I can trade Smith to Sylvia this week instead of waiting to trade Mzungu next week (just short this week but BE of 2) Meaning I don't have to play Prestia

i don't think you can really go wrong with either. Both have reasonable runs home. Both have a tough opponent in round 24 Shaw = Geelong. Fisher = Carlton. I often use the GF matchup to decide between to very close players but that doesn't really help here.

I think I would take Fisher personally, he has been in great form but if other teams see how effective that hard forward tag was last week....... Hope that other teams don't pick up on that.

If Fisher hadn't scored so poorly last week I wouldn't have hesitated to pick him up, now I'm just worried the role that Cornes played will become a permanent thing.

Yes good trades seems Thompson isn't playing and doesn't look like being recalled soon.

Providing it doesn't leave you too short on trades then getting Shaw is a good bet.

Lucky you didn't trade last night, I was going to get H.Shaw last night but changed my mind and did different trade luckily.

DONT TRADE TO SHAW. He's going to miss rest of season possibly on betting scandal. Announcement to be made any minute now on duration of suspension but Fisher is your man not Shaw. Hopefully you haven't already traded.

EDIT: Just anounced he will miss 14 matches and have to pay $20 000, unable to play any level of footy for 8 weeks.

EDIT 2: Apparantly Maxwell fined $10 000 for distributing info about him playing in forward line but without knowledge bets would be placed

This makes me feel a little better. At least I got 114 out of him.

So can't afford Broughton this week.

Will Suckling drop 15k to less than 356 in 2 weeks time thus saving a trade but taking a donut this week.

Given my lack of cash, the Shaw Sideways trade, is difficult. Ive got it down to 2 players.
Rawlings- Still a bye to play, turnover merchant, scores ok against who is left, slightly worried about JS!
Duffield- The Left-(duf )field choice for me. No byes left, and has still scored well, Freo fighting hard for a finals and will be crucial to dockers, still has solid scores when considering position.
