It should hurt St.Kilda’s ultra negative defensive flooding tactics at the very least.

Push up even higher defensively, and then keep running St.aKilda hard back into Melbourne’s forward line to wear them out more?

Less slow ball movement as that will give St.Kilda more chance to rest while on the field?
