The game has a finals feel about it. This is the most anticipated game of the season for me.
This top of the table clash at home on a Saturday night ranks second only to playing North Melbourne in Tasmania as the biggest game of the year for me.

Wow now there's a sentence I never thought I'd say.

Watched the Carlton game again. Ollie Lord kicks straight and we play someone not Jonas in defence we win that game.

Think we will find a way tonight.

Willie Rioli kicks 5

Ollie Wines BOG.
Not sure we would have won, but if Lord had taken his chances, and a barely adequate defender had played instead of a beyond cooked Jonas I suspect the margin would have been considerably closer.

Really hoping we bring the type of energy as we did against Melbourne.

Otherwise, I feel it will be Collingwood by 57

Biggest game of the season. Are we actually good with a full strength team or we just pretenders?

My biggest fear with this game is the start. We started bad last week and haven't really come out of the gates hard against anyone for a while. It's another hallmark of Hinkleys tenure. For a bloke that's supposed to be a great motivator and player's coach, his record of getting us ready psychologically for big games isn't great. If we start like we did last week it will be all over.

I love having JHF in the side because even if he has a quiet game, he will be up for the challenge. He's got a lot of mongrel, a bit like Carr himself and between him and butters, they might be able to spark us if we need it.

We'll lose by a goal after the siren to Nick Daicos which will be the worst result for the club but the best result for Ken because the cheerleaders will say "he couldn't have done any more xoxo"

a win would be incredible

can we apply defensive pressure around the ground, for four quarters, like the dees delivered against the pies? even the crows, a better side than their position reflects on the ladder, got ever so close twice.

The PTSD in this thread is strong. We won 13 in a row ffs, we should all believe we are a massive chance especially at home.

Collingwood by one million points.
We won 13 in a row and then reverted to type.

Reasons for us being subdued:

  1. coming off a bad game that demonstrated our weaknesses;
  2. our form since the bye having been less than outstanding;
  3. key players clearly playing hurt - not just hurt but hurt to the point they are nowhere near the required level;
  4. key players who could end their season falling over a blade of grass;
  5. skills, like goal kicking, having gone to s**t; and
  6. Daddy Donuts-induced PTSD.
I'm sure there are more but those are the main ones for me.
I'll take a supersize order of #6 with a side of 1 & 3

Years of PTSD aren't just blown away by a nice looking 13 game streak, with no other change. Only the team can show us, in these big games, that it wasn't just a lucky streak, but instead it was an actual sign of change.
