I'm not complaining about the win but we need another high quality midfielder in there to help out neale and lyons and I don't think Rayner is the answer.

Needs more time in the middle to settle down. He's back from ACL after all, second half of the season with full fitness would be closer to the mark.

Good win despite a worrying start. I'd have thought by now that this team knows it can't just pick and choose when it wants to put the effort in. Either way, it's a good start to the year; banking two wins from games that could've gone either way. We can only get better.

Who the in the hell thought that? I'm gobsmacked that Freo and the Eagles didn't want him, though that was an even bigger lol.

There were a few posts during trade period debating "should we cash out now and set ourselves up with an early first, or a first and second". While I didn't mind the idea then, replacing Lachie for 2022 was always going to be a challenge. He's just showing us why.

I think the only way it was going to work out for us in the short term was getting a high first and a second/late first and then using that money on Luke Parker, was all very unlikely stuff so very happy to keep him.

Thank you to Lions supporters who helped me get ticket. I come from Japan to my first Afl game, and it was greater than I believe. I watch Lions for many years since my friend introduce me to them, so happy to be there and try to sing song in end. Many happy players, always smile and enjoy. If Lions make grand final, I will come back again.

Despite most people not being able to see it a fit Zorko off half back directing traffic could be the key that allows us to take the next step.

Today he showed he was adjusting to the role. Could take 3 or 4 weeks . Just hope he throws off this calf niggle.

Were we able to win any games after falling 4 goals behind in the last two years? Definitely felt like a weakness of ours, but in the last two weeks we've shown we have shown we can win from behind (and it's no fluke).

We know we can win and win well when we play at our best. We now know we can win from behind.

Hardly lucky to win. Our first was awful. We then kicked 14 goals to 6 (and 20 shots to 14) and controlled the game very well.

Remember Peter Bell feather in my cap keeping Lachie cause he is such an important member of our team?

He was wanted, he just wanted out and we were the team he was crushing on at the time. So glad he fell for our charms!!

Maturity of the club on display for the past two weeks. Not playing well but just being able to edge out our oppo and grind out the win. Hopefully over the next few weeks we can start imposing ourselves for whole games rather than having 2.5 decent quarters.

We were too good for them despite not playing well overall.

Lot of guys down on form ,McStay ,Andrews , Rayner ,not that I know what his form is, Berry , probably played a negating role. Our rucks were only average. JL can do better. Didn't see much of Sharp. I think we need Robbo.

Neale was immense.

Daniher good again. Shame he couldn't finish late and get the reward.

Zorko had a big influence on the game.

Backline holds up under pressure.

Bailey doesn't seem to be getting much mid time?

Sharp probably didn't do enough to hold out Robbo.

McStay a bit flat to start the year.

Andrews still seems a bit off.

Rayner very quiet, but we can afford to give him time.

How good was the Neale post-match interview, "watched Crippa on Thursday night and knew that I had to try and hit the scoreboard".
Thought the big O had a good game, in preparation for a great game next week, he plays very well against the roo's.
While Zork's did play well, might be worth the rest next week, prevention is better than a cure.

Neale had openly said he is chasing Brownlow - even hired an extra, only for him coach previously (with the club's approval of course).

Such a driven individual, and he drags his teammates with him. And sets a standard that will resonate in our club long after he had gone.

Slow starts are a worry. Can't be playing catch up all the time. Don't think Robinson will get back into this team unless there are injuries. Still think Joe and Charlie are yet to fire... exciting.

I find my happiness and/or sadness at how the team performs has little impact on the actual players, so I will continue to be happy and backslappy after an easy win.
