I think the Doggies will be too strong for us here unfortunately

I don't see Lobb as much of an out as the Dogs were too big last week

Hopefully we get an effort like last week though, if you get that every week at least you know every game will be worth watching

I can wear being taken down by a better team as long as we don't look like we did against Melbourne in the match sim. I'm still hoping that a flint hard Saints take down a bunch of front running soft ***** though.

Might lose might win
Looking for the continued development of Hunter Clark in the midfield.
Wilkie to MP as an exit strategy
Hammer impacting forward contests
Windy back
NWM to continue to go for his passes - back him in the development will come
Nothing to lose everything to. Gain attitude

I think we have a chance, but we need to win our share of marking duels and contested balls in the forward half, otherwise it might go pear shaped.

Really comes down to how hard our midfield works for me. If they get as many looks at it as Freo did they'll blow us away. We need to make sure we kill their clearance game. If they get quick ball movement out of the middle they can pile on goals before our defence sets up. We need Steele and Crouch to smash in and probably give Gresham plenty of on-ball time if things go a bit pear-shaped early. Maybe even send Sinclair in.

Start with Clark in there. Just knows where the ball is.

We're underdogs for sure.... but with the puppet master in our corner who knows what can happen.

I feel our defence is strong. Hopefully we can bounce and our smalls can get to work.

We won't die wondering, I'm sure of that.

Lots of angst in the preview thread about Seb Ross coming in ahead of Windy. Love Windy, but Seb is a 2x B&F winner coming off a career best season where he was arguably our best midfielder (with Crouch). Big in for us - he's an upgrade on Bytel. Also looking forward to Windy coming off the pine to have 15 disposals, 6 tackles and 2 goals in 1.5 quarters.

My query with Ross is not what he is capable of but having come off an interrupted preseason with a soft tissue (particularly calf) and coming straight in is a recipe for disaster IMO.

Unlike last weeks oppo the Dogs don’t have the defensive marking power to nullify our forward entries. I can see us piling on the goals & taking full advantage of our runs forward. Dogs look very gettable. I would not be surprised if we won by 8 goals.
I wish I could think like that but if I did and we lost I’d be thinking how dare my club let me down.

Just my opinion, I think the Dogs will be one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Whilst we may be middle of the road this year, I reckon RTBs structure and style of play that he has us playing will not bode well for the Dogs.

Love the optimism in here after a Rd 1 win which usually provides some shock results, but geewhiz I could see us getting f*kn smashed tonight. 😂
I'm starting at the Pies Power game

I agree. I think the win last week takes a little bit of pressure off. It will be interesting to see how they back up after that effort.
Hopefully we get to see further development in the young guys and better understanding of the game plan.
Poo to kick 10, Hammer to kick 5 ( in the first quarter), Saints by eleventy hundred.
