Mr Hanieh did my surgeries. Yes he was a very quiet man. You really had to ask him questions to get anything out of him. I’ve been seeing dr Santoreneous since Mr Hanieh retired 18 years ago but no surgery has been required since my shunt was inserted in 1999
Likewise.

I saw Hanieh a few times in public after he retired, always remembered my name. Lovely bloke.

My parents loved him, he was straight to the point and he was brilliant at what he did. Haven't had a shunt revision since 05, but had 3 in 4 years prior to that.

Steve is a great bloke, he has worked on a couple mates of mine and he's always happy to chat which isn't common with brain surgeons.

Also, less than 24 hours from now...

This isn't as clear cut a Port win as many believe. I've still tipped them but it will be close.

Also, since the AFL is absolutely-*******-hell-bent getting me to gamble, I'm going for it. I've looked up my on-line betting account (i've been through about 5 in my life that keep getting absorbed by bigger entities) and I'm currently with BetEasy (AFL official partner is Sportsbet).

Am I any good at gambling? No. I'm hopeless. All_In understands how everything works and when we sit in the stands every fortnight he patiently explains what the line means and I do the mental calculation of "if X are the favourite then Y are allowed to lose by this much". The biggest bet I ever placed was $1000 on Paddy to win the Brownlow at $1.40, which was almost criminal since he was never going to lose that fairytale. The rest of the time I have maybe $50 in this account, and put silly $1 and $2 bets on things happening. I don't want the money - although I did enjoy the day I got Otten as first goal scorer at 40/1 - I just do it for the entertainment. But now I've retired at 44, it's time to take up new challenges.

I introduce to you Deaneus the professional sports gambler...

and we're going to ride this account like it's 1999.

Today's bets:

I got all of these prices because I used a "Boost". I think this means i get extra but i can only use it at the site or something.

Okay, the Crows can sneak it in i think, so $5.25 is attractive. And they're big odds for 1st goal from two premier forwards. All it takes is one good mark and kick out of the middle and BAM, so I'm happy with that too.

Account balance = $22.19

Steady up turbo, $5m doesn’t last as long as it used to. You don’t need a wheelbarrow for $1 of mixed lollies these days. If you’re board because you’ve retired from your work, maybe you could do my work for me. Win:Win.

Feel sorry for you guys, I’m never going to need one, very little of the thinking matter
It's always a daunting experience, even something a simple as a shunt replacement.

There's people in worse places.

Kenny Rogers reincarnated.😂
I recently deleted my account after blowing $200 in a day a timely reminder that I can’t gamble.

Until covid, I’d not wagered via an internet account for over 12 months. It’s too easy to lay on the couch and drop $200 on a Saturday hangover day. Still went to the track here and there or across the road to the casino with mates and punted. But my attitude is that if it’s not important enough for me to leave the house to do, then it’s not important enough to do at all.

McHenry, Jones, Fogarty, Milera, Doedee, Keays, McAsey, M.Crouch, B.Crouch, Laird, Brown and Smith. These guys have futures at the AFC so am keen to see how they fare.

The rest I'm not too fussed.
Walker, Lynch, Sloane and Talia won't be around next premiership.
Murphy doesn't seem to have the talent or quantity of ball to make it.
Seedsman probably won't be in our long term plans.
Crocker seems a stop gap type player.
Atkins should be traded. Same for Kelly.
ROB I'm not convinced by.

For anyone looking to get a bit of gas in your tank. Have a look at the ins and out for Round 2 2019 vs Round 2 2020

Outs: Gibbs, DMAC, Jenkins, Betts, Jacobs, Hartigan, Knight, Keath

Ins: Fogarty, Doedee, McHenry, McAsey, Kaeys, Crocker, ROB, Brown

Average age of the team has gone down by approximately a billion years

Whoever won a seat in the ballot has the power to do whats right.

Boycott the game in protest of those missing out.

Help us open up the stadiums to everyone sooner.

Are you going to do whats right by all? Or are you going to be selfish and make us all suffer?

This comment is what's selfish, you dickhead.

The numbers we can have safely keep growing. If you can be one of them and want to go, you should.

It's only a ****ing footy game, you flog, and hardly worth boycotting because someone won't let you sit in your favourite seat because there's been a health emergency.

Wow. Buzzing now

Salient post

I don't think even "Mackay late in" could destroy this buzz

Though I'd prefer not to find out

The old, “someone’s gain is my loss” culture. I’ve an older sister like that, it’s infuriating.

I’m not enthused by Keays and Crocker, especially after Keays ‘highlights’ reel was posted. But they’re in now, so I want to see them for 3-4 weeks, no matter how bad they go. Get a decent look and give them a decent chance without the selection dagger hovering over their head.

It was free for everyone, which was a bit annoying wouldn't be hard to flash your ticket at the train station turnstiles, no ticket go through as normal.

We subsidised free transport for all users.
They don't even check footy tickets at train station.

All gates open.

Great list of outs, I would only have Keath playing out of that list.

Fogarty, Doedee, ROB and Brown are big upgrades, the rest are worth a punt as they replace past it or not up to it players.

Geez we've had some shit coaches looking at that list of outs, hopefully Nicks didn't learn too much from Kenny.

Maybe watch this...All he needs is an opportunity.

Hi guys where is everyone expecting
- Keays, McHenry, Jones, Murphy to play?
Seems they’ve all been cast in the role of small pressure forward previously. Do you see a couple of them playing further up ground?

Also Deaneus! go for it, I often put a couple of bets on my team for interest sake. Long term though, first goal kicker has one of the worst markets to actually make money on - market percentages are heavily in the bookies favour.

Hopefully Jones, McHenry and Keays all get midfield minutes as well.
