Poor choice by Rutten. Shiel should have been replaced by a ball winner. Would have been a good time to debut Hobbs, though he wasn’t listed as an emergency.

Looks like another large deficit in contested ball/clearances.

Our midfield worked great last year with mcmerrish, and when we had less players to roll through there and let our guys spend a majority of time on ball. Tomorrow we have parish, merrett, stringer, Mcgrath Caldwell. That’s plenty for an onball rotation.

** oh and perk

It didn’t work well against the good teams, hence why we were 1-9 vs top 8 teams.

Centre bounces were fine mainly because of Stringer, but we were ordinary around stoppages.

That’s not got nothing to do with another midfielder, that’s just the way we got bullied at the contest. Shiel ain’t fixing that. And we more than competed against the dogs (r21) , the dees and Sydney both times and gws.
