Part of me would like Stringer to not play and for Truck to challenge the same group to lift their game this week without him, just to prove to themselves that it is not futile if Jake is not there. That mentality is part of the Worsfold hangover. If they believe in Truck's system, the system should prevail.

Guelfi needs to shadow and be a general annoyance to Rich.
I'd be tempted to drop Heppell, play McGrath back and bring in Voss to do the same to Neale, except that he hasn't shown the form to warrant selection. Can't have been any worse than last week's rabble though.

Looking at the stats from all teams in Rd1 and we ranked first for disposals, marks and uncontested possessions - actually we were so far ahead of other teams you’d consider it a statistical outlier.

At the same time we were bottom three for contested possessions, clearances and inside 50s.

Which begs the question - what on earth are we trying to do?

He hasn't been mentioned in the injury reports since a calf issue caused him to miss the intraclub and first practice game. He was named as an emergency in the second pre-season game, so presumably over his injury, but if he's not injured then presumably it's a matter of match fitness, and we don't have a VFL report so don't actually know if he played or how well... bit of an unknown.

Hopefully he's good to go though, especially without Snelling. Having Ham and Guelfi instead of Durham and Snelling is not ideal (Guelfi is probably still in the team even with Durham and Snelling, but he shouldn't be playing a small forward/wing role).

Think he played VFL last week but that was his first game for the year so he would be 50/50.
