in order of job security:

  1. Jetta
  2. bastinac
  3. Howlett
  4. Duncan
Scoring potential:
  1. Howlett (68.5)
  2. Duncan (64)
  3. Bastianc (62.5)
  4. Jetta (58)
Hope that helps. But it probably won't cos its nearly exactly inverted. haha

I'm trying to decide between the above 4 as well...

Hrmmmm no idea. Would really like to go with Duncan or Howlett but really worried about job secutiry

Tippett is annoying me greatly at the moment but I am not sure whether to trad him or not…
Not a huge fan of trading early but if he is going to keep this up this is going to get the can very shortly.
What are peoples thoughts? Do you think i should tough it out and wait for his 80+ scores or do I jump ship and do

Tippett –> Ottens

Thoughts???

Tippett will avg more then Ottens over the whole season IMO

Not a huge fan of that trade either. Otto has a hard enough time staying on the park so you could be trading him out just as fast. Obviously you can't predict these things and by all reports he is fit and firing but history suggests he'll miss games at some stage of this year.

I dont understand how people can jump the guns like this after 2 rounds. Yeh his had a slow start to the season but you selected the guy as a potential/if not keeper. Adelaide got taken to the clearers by freo in freo in round 1 and and demolished and beaten by a very good sydney side in round 2. They play melbourne this week which with a win could kickstart adelaides and tippets season. Definately would not be making that trade imo

and that

I am considering Clark > Sandilands

Clark doesn't have a great run in the next few weeks. he does well against port, but is then coming up against the Bulldogs, Melbourne and Sydney. He could score well against the dogs (but history says they're one of his weaker sides), Jamar is playing brilliantly at the moment for Melbourne and could really restrict him while Sydney are Sydney.

Sandilands on the other hand is up against Geelong, St Kilda, Richmond and WC. all four currently have suspect ruck lineups. Sandi will win the hit outs in all games, and with the exception of Geelong, I can't see any of the teams being able to curb his influence around the ground.

If I don't pull the trigger now there is a chance I miss out on Sandi all together.

God all this Tippett trading talk is all pretty stupid. He has had two bad games at the start of the season but he is guaranteed time in the ruck as well as being the main forward target for Adelaide. I wouldnt bother trading Tippett cause he will only get better, even though he may not get 100's every week, the main thing people should be thinking about (if they havent already got him) is getting Barlow. I havent got him and im seriously considering getting rid of Masten for him.

Only trade I'm considering; Clark to Sandilands.

Persist with Clark and hope he turns good, or get Sandilands while I have the chance before Clark's price plummets. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah tough one. Clark has not looked great tbh and Sandi tore us a new one. Looks even more dominant but im undecided on if it is worth a trade or not. Mostly because Clark could turn it around and we saw last year what he can do.

I've decided against doing Masten/Hall to Trengove/Brown. Im gonna try and stick to my preaseason plan and not be so reactive to early scores. I do however have 130k in the kitty. Is there any obvious changes I could (or should) make at the cost of one trade?

My team -

Trading out tippet the week they are playing Melbourne, didnt he rack up a big 100 against them last year!!!! the tippet > dangerfield trade is one of the worst I have ever seen!. Luke ball is gone though! I cant see the logic in my choice, he was never going to be a keeper

Only trade I would consider is Masten to McKenzie. Masten does not look flash one bit, while McKenzie has shown that he can score big with little TOG and should play all 22 games throughout the season. I can see Masten getting dropped at one stage + it frees up about 100k which would leave you with a massive 230k to play around with.

No trades. I think it's pretty desperate to be using them despite the lack of injuries thus far. I'd rather have faith in the players I've chosen.

I get a feeling Brown won't get too many huge scores in the future, opposition coaches ought to have learned by now that he's far more dangerous than Fev and much more worthy of the number 1 defender.

Thing is with Masten is that he's only priced at a mid-60s average, and was used off a half-forward flank (lol) with crappy supply in our last game and still knocked out a 70.

With LeCras set to return and big calls for Lynch to be selected, and with McKinley pressing his claims in the WAFL, expect a return to the engine room for at least a substantial portion of games for the rest of the season.

Somehow I missed the news on the DT superstar that is Michael Barlow. What do people think about getting rid of one of Martin, Shuey, Trengrove or Scully to bring him in? Would be making some coin as well doubling my points?

Not wure how you missed Barlow... I think a lot had him pinned to mak an impact early on as he's dominated at VFL level for Werribee for 2 years... Won the Liston Medal (equivalent of Brownlow) after playing only 11-12 games last year... having said that, I didn't think he'd have this bigger impact and therefore overlooked him in my initial squad
