Round 2 Trading

I agree getting rid of Tippet from the forwards is a great idea, but surely there is a better option than Rockliff a guy who is only playing his first game on the weekend ;)

yeh only problem is i need 100k to upgrade Tippett to ROK..

so to downgrade mayne, i need to drop to a player 120k or below...

best available are

rockliff
duncan
petersen

you are missing one thing about clark and that is the fact that his average is going to decrease by 15 no matter what...that means he will average 80...Clark average 25 hitouts last year but now shares that with Berg..

do you really want a 400k ruck averaging 80? i don't..

With Barlow, you essentially have one less trade to make as long as he continues his form (which there is no reason why he shouldnt).

If people have Sandilands then I would not be trading at all..if they don't and have Clark i would be doing what i can to get Sandi.

I would rather keep Clarks 80 average than to waste a trade which can be used to cover the certain Rd 20-22 zero. So what if his price tumbles, that will only hurt if he gets injured and then its a forced trade.

It goes well against my rules to trade out Clark for Sandi.

What I am leaning towards is holding Clark for a couple more rounds, maybe 4 or 5, hope he can average 90. If he isn't and doesn't look like doing so, I will straight swap out for Cox, who will probably be around the same price by such time. It is a sideways trade never-the less but it will give me some more time to look at him, and assess better.

I will probably only lose 100 points by waiting. But I think its a better option than burning a trade in round 2....

This is my thinking exactly. Most people have sandi/hille or some have clark/sandi or whatever combination. I'm in a fortunate position of having Clark/Seaby/.

So its either a sideways trade to sandilands or hang on for a few weeks hopefully not lose too many points and hit up cox for a sideway trade.....decisions decisions.

the only problem is I didn't pay 414k for a chump who isnt going to average me 70 and perform at a 300k level.

I think he might be gone this week. what really rubs salt into the wound is he sandi was in my team 20 minutes before lockout.....I goto dreamteamtalk read their rucks coloumn and they talked me into clark.

Lean towards Duncan, his price is due to go up, also is a DP option if you decide to hold for a few weeks. Rockcliff hasn't set foot on the park yet, if you an impatient person then you could downgrade Duncan to him later.

46 points in the last quarter when the game was dead and buried against Port. Thats half his points for the game, in junk time.

Hes had 66% TOG each game. Not good enough.

Ziebell should be a cash-cow, but with the score he put up last weekend, he has ensured that he wont make any money for at least the next 2 weeks, and he is not doing his job.

I think trading to Peterson could be a great move, as long as Peterson continues to put up his 60-70 every week. Pocket 200k and use it elsewhere.

Ziebell was given a job to follow Hayes around for a lot of the game and therefore wasn't working as hard to find his own ball. I doubt that will happen again considering Hayes went ok, but more importantly Ziebell had no impact on the game. Also they won't get done by 100 every week.

I would really like to get through this week without trading at all but i think it is wise to get adjust your team at this stage before the price rises.

Personally im thinking -

Tom Williams to Alex Silvagni (Yes i know! why did i have Tom Williams?!)
Then with the $100k upgrade Buddy to JB.

I think my argument had slightly more substance.

However, if Z does get more TOG, he could be ok...

why you trading buddy? his under priced and has played 1 game against the best defence in the league.

How's this:

Hargrave -> Chaplin

Just quietly, I think Chappy is set for a big year. Late in 2007 he showed his potential with some 20+ touches games for finals scores of (95,105,84).

This year, (67,81,71) Pre-season, and a 103 last week. So averaging 80.5.

Averaged 71 last year, he's now 24. Chad's now taken a more negating role and even this week I think Chad will go to Brown, Bobby to Fev, then Chappy loose. (Same thing happened last year, round 14, scored 119). I'm thinking Chaplin could have some Chad-like scores. I'd be happy even if he only averaged 80.

This would then let Cassisi -> GAJ (only $600 to spare though)

I didn't start with GAJ last year and regretted it, I don't want to regret it again. He's looking good.

Originally I thought Cassisi would be gun, and average 100 (which he still could do) but teams have discovered his clearance ability and has been tagged in the second half of round one, and tagged the whole match V West Coast.

I was going to go Hargrave->Carrazzo, then Cassisi->Kornes. But I think the other option is better.

Thoughts would be appreciated. :)

what does every1 think about lecras? he was listed as hamstring soreness (not strain)and they reckon he is a chance to be selected in the team annouced tonight. if he is not selected im thinking of getting downgrading to peterson and collecting the cash

lecras>>>>peterson. whats your thoughts on that trade people? yay or nay?

id be a bit more patient with lecras, as he missed last week, you have an extra week or so to see what he does before his price changes..

if he plays midfield when hes back, he will avg 85-90

what is everyones thoughts on jordie mckenzie? would he be worth picking up and what will he average throughout the year? also will he play 22 games?
Clakre down to Seaby: Net gain is cash. I reckon Seaby and Clarke can average the same from here (I think Clarke will be effected by Luey, so I can't see him returning to his glory days - I think 80 will be about it for both of these guys);

Both good trade targets fellaz. Get on before the prices rise, you won't get them that cheap again!

Does anyone think it's worth trading Medders/Ziebell down to a Peterson or Ballantyne? I'm a bit worried about Z's TOG and Medders is playing too deep for my liking.

Surely those that have Tippet in the forward line and are considering trading him originally picked him because of DP?!?! If this is the case I am guessing you have a high risk ruck structure (i.e. Hille). You trade out Tippet and ur rucks become even more riskier. Hille goes down and ur burning more trades.Tippet has value in this case!

He has played two games in an underperforming Adelaide side. Adelaide will improve, they are not a side that just roll over, therefore I expect Tippet to improve.

2 rounds have been played, the dust is yet to settle!

what does that trade actually do for you?

initial 50k freed
gain another 50k. after this week.

potentially make 150k, gain a 7th forward for the year and upgrade a midfield rookie to a gun in a couple of rounds.

what about Hall to Peterson? free up 200k potentially make 100k - 200k out of it?

If your going to pull trades in the first 5 rounds this is the round to do it. Rectify your mistakes, people who picked clark like myself over sandi....just admit you made the wrong choice and trade him out before he looses you 150k and about 500 points.

I wouldn't think so. Unless you have problems with cash production. If you have a few rookies that are out or potential otus in the future then it mite be wise to trade in another one to gain instant cash but if you have enough rookies likely to rise in value soon then i don't think it is. Keep the faith with Meddy, Ziebell you can't get evry bargain and they are likely to get better. But in the end it depends completely on your situation but if you happy with your other rookies i really wouldn't do it. If you must trade 1 i'd suggest Ziebell.

I have him as a forward, so i can get ROK by trading him...which im willing to do as its not as risky as trading him in rucks..

my oppurtunites to get ROK befor ehe goes up shrink before this week.

i have emergencies up fwd

Clark lose 150K? Get a grip...

Only trade this week for me will be Staker (yeah I know, picked him for uniqueness, hasn't impressed me though, even with a 76 and 53) to Dangerfield. I can't see Staker making more than 50k for me, while Danger should atleast go up 90-100k, which will make it easier to upgrade later on.
