Thanks for your opinion. If Schoenmakers is so vital to our forwardline why has he been playing in the twos almost all year?

Didn't he get injured in round 2 and then returned via the VFL? Did play a lot of consecutive games in the VFL after that, probably because the club wanted to give O'Brien an extended run at trying to cement a spot in the side. An experiment which seems to have come to an end, allowing Shoey to return to the side.
We've gone 5-0 with Shoey in the side, and are yet to kick less than 100 in any of those 5 games. Seems to straighten us up, and provide a good contest, even if he's not dominating himself, something that O'Brien has so far unfortunately not been able to do on a consistent basis.

Mitchell had 43 touches, 549m gained.
Merrett had 41... and 344m gained.

Yet Mitchell is the crab

You are forgetting the golden rule.

Any stats that favours Mitchell over any other player is a useless stat that doesn't reflect impact on the game. Other useless stats Mitchell beat Merrett in were clearances, contested to uncontested ratio, disposal efficiency, and inside 50s. Merrett did edge out Mitchell in clangers (by 1), but I'm sure there is a reason why its good to have more of those than less that I'll be told about in the main board Tom Mitchell thread.

Shoey creates a contest and allowed Roughy to roam around the ground.

He adds more than people think. Could of clinked one or two more but gee people being hard on him.
My only knock on him was letting Hooker take a few intercept marks in the second half. He was unlucky early in the 3rd set Rough up with great inside 50 pass and Rough dropped it

That guy has spent his entire career both forward and back buried under a pile of opposition arms and legs, drawing and stifling the opposition's best players while giving ours a bit of extra breathing space...

Has been great for us - big fan...

Thanks for the question.
Hawthorn averages 113.7 points per game when Schoenmakers plays, we average 91.5 when he doesn't. We have won 5 from 5 when Schoenmakers plays, we are 5 - 0 when he doesn't play we are 7 - 5.

You only have to watch the ball entering the forward line to see why this is the case.

I just can’t think who’s going out for Howe, McEvoy and Sicily.

Two talls and a slowish mid.

They all need to come in but I worry about the loss of leg speed

Sicily for brand

However for Whitecross

McEvoy for either ceglar or schoey

Unfortunately I missed what seemed like a ripper of a game, I was wondering if Brand backed up from his performance against the Dockers (which has easily been his best). It would be nice if he could string together a few solid games and get his confidence up at this level.

Loved ((All Australian *cough*)) Hurley getting beaten by the Worpedo to win the game. Even Hoskin-Elliot had his measure.

That flog has produced some great moments this year from his mediocrity.

Good job Hawks....for pretty much basically ending their season. Thought some very dodgy calls were made and not made in Essendon's favour also. Almost like 'someone' wanted a particularly large club in the finals.
