There was a play in the 3rd quarter where a hawk defender (maybe Stratton.. Could have been Shiels) was taken out of the contest in the most obvious way by Baguley (I think) and the umps called play on. Ball bounces to a bomber forward who handpassed it to the now free Baguley who snapped a goal.

Still, we got away with a few chopping off the arms calls. Still annoyed me though.

I have less issue with the Colyer goal. The way that advantage is played in the AFL is ****ing horrendous in general, but that sort of situation (where 90% of the players stop, one keeps going and play on gets called) happens fairly frequently, so at least it's consistently shit ... I guess

The Worpel one was an absolute howler and he should be held to account for that mistake. Complete balls up

All the commentator complaining has me baffled. That was about as good as you'd get and I'm no fan of Dwayne Russell let me tell you.

You had Brad Johnson and Garry Lyon with some pretty insightful tactical insights during the call and mainly Eddie (but Dwayne not bad) both calling the game well and doing a great game justice. Call was accurate and was perfectly executed in terms of the excitement that a great game generated, with no bias torwads either team.

Some people are hard to please if they had an issue with that call.

As for the game - by god that was good. Credit to both sides.

I heard the commentary only via the highlights - however it didn't seem that there was bias. Eddie went off at the Worpel advantage call.

That advantage was a joke, he had a perfect view of what happened, and then with 1:30 to go there was a htb right in front of him which he didn't pay.

Anyway we win, better to get shit decisions late in games like this rather than finals.
