Melbourne have got to be worried. From their perspective they're at the pointy tip of the season and only have a 3 point lead from the 18th position team at half time.

It's not pretty footy but we're doing a great job of keeping in the game.

What a goal. 20 blokes fumbled it the whole way from the back pocket - but WE JUST WANTED IT SO MUCH.

20 games in a row as the key forward is starting to tell on Hippy, but he would not have it any other way.

They had half the quarter in their forward 50 for only a couple of goals. It was a great effort to just hang in there.

But no, get personal instead of actually forming an opinion.

Oh, I have as opinion. Don't you worry about that.

Witho has been poor. Number of errors and still only 3 points behind a top 8 team. Contested ball and clearance work we have seen will match any team if we can play like this day in day out.

We have improved greatly over the season. Still have some flaws in our game but those periods of garbage (like the last 5 mins) were whole quarters previous years. Get those out of our game and watch out. Happy about all our players and some still are having some down game but the intent and the effort is there. Go boys!

For a top 8 side, Melbourne should have put us away, especially in those last few minutes. Just shows how far we've come under Fagan, commentators have said it all game, we're not playing like the bottom team.

Honestly though, how good/intense was that last play

Browny calling Claye "clumsy" in that contest with Vince.

Shaking my head. Textbook head over the ball courage.

Is Bernie Vince his godson or something?
I agree. Bernie had another option. Go for the ball. He chose to turn sideways and lay a (kinda defensive) bump. Im not suggesting its suspendable but he hit him high with no interest in the footy.

I hope he hasn't got Lynch syndrome and feels like he has to be anti-lions.

Vince did nothing to go the ball, he literally stood there and let the contact happen.

And the 'spoil' attempt on D.Beams was sloppy, and sloppy shouldn't be given a free pass - it was still intentional high contact.

Vince has knocked out both Beams lads and Brown has defended him both times. What the hell Browny.
Listening to Browny (On the Couch) it might be the fact he is over how soft footy has become with the suspensions from players slapping/pushing each other.

How we can win:

- Melbourne have been getting goals mainly due to luck and our mistakes. That usually doesn't continue for a full game so as long as we can stop Hogan, we should be able to restrict them.

- We have the edge in clearances and contested ball. If we continue this we take away Melbournes' plan A. Not sure how they're plan B goes but looks like it involves flooding the backline. With Beams x2, Rich and Witherden in the side we should manufacture enough long shots at goal to kick a winning score.

- Hogan has kicked half of their goals. Stop him and where do they get their goals?

We might struggle to run out the game though considering how bruising the first half was. A few players look spent already.

Melbourne look like a side who need to win make the finals for the first time in a decade. The longer we can stick with them they will really start to get nervous there supporters will get on there back. We have nothing to lose.

How about Allison gets tackled '360' it's a free kick, Petracca does it 1 minute later feeds out a handball for a goal and it's all clear. Great intent that half though. I was wrong on dizzy earlier this year has had a great month.
