I did watch the game and he didn’t take all the kick outs.

He was also moved onto the wing in the last and the only reason they had a chance up until the first goal pies goal of the last.

I didnt watch the last had to go out , but he took every kick out that I saw. He played on the wing last year in the champs, but I doubt he has the aerobic capacities to manage that at AFL level. Perhaps he would make a decent sub in this weeks side.

It was his first VFL game and they almost played exclusively through Arie.

He marked well and had he goaled from his 50m set shot into the wind early in the last. We could have been talking about a good Sandy win and talking his performance up.

His kicking exhibited different lengths and across angles. He moved the play and hit the open man constantly.

Butler for Henry
Arie for Wood.

Sinclair and Jones onball to replace the dynamic Henry.

Arie gives us more height but elite kicking under the roof at marvel. Few times yesterday he wanted to unload the cannon but the wind made it hard.

As of this morning the club think it’s closer to 6 then 8 weeks.

6 or 8 weeks is splitting hairs neither are great. The club should be answering WHY they continue to have SO MANY soft tissue injuries AGAIN this year. Woods injury was just clumsy courage, but the amont of injuries we continue to have is simply not in line with the competition levels.

Something remains out of kilter with our training loads and injury management?

I still dont think he has the running capacity to replace Wood at that level, Wilson for me is the obvious choice. Jones into the midfield, Butler to replace Henry and Shoemaker as sub for me.

I’d rather he be back for north in round 8 than Freo in round 10.

Our bye is round 15. We could do with a few more games out of Henry

Of course he doesn’t have the tank yet.

But we don’t have a like for like replacement.

It won’t be perfect

Again the club arent addressing the elephant in the room, I would rather he not injured his hamstring AT ALL.

I understand we are going to have the occasion fatigue related injury, but we just finished round 2 and again we have one of the longest injury lists in the game. I also understand RTB has lifted the training levels but perhaphs there is sports science level where he is just pushing too hard? I dont know but surely questions have to be asked.

Having so many injuries and losing the players we are is simply not sustainable!

I hope Hammer gets in, but other than the first quarter of the VFL game he really didn’t demand a spot.

Butler was not good, and Collard was virtually anonymous, so I don’t see either of them coming in, other than for structural purposes.

It will actually be quite interesting to see what they do at selection.
Playing forward in that terrible team is diabolical. Hammer should have had 3 early. Buts is mainly there for pressure and I think Hammer can do a good job.

Yeah it will. I didn't watch the Zebs but reports on Crouch aren't encouraging and judging by the CBA mix on Thursday night l reckon it's not a big issue to leave him out. Byrnes can cover Mase so we need another runner and that's Hugo or Hugo by the looks of it.
I think RTB will probably go for youth since he's taking the long view.
I wonder if Crouch only played a half because he wasn’t right or the bosses had seen enough and ok to save him for next week?

I was impressed with his ability to get to positions and I’ve not been the biggest fanboi. I think he’ll be quite a weapon at Marvel.

Yeah he looked more accomplished then what I was expecting.

I was completely taken by surprise at how respected he was by the rest of the Sandy boys. They wanted to get him the ball at every opportunity.

Bachelors attempted match winning move was to move him to a wing in the last.

Had he nailed his goal. It would have looked good

If Crouch had a repairable knee injury like meniscus or medial etc you would hope the club would have sent him in for surgery, rather than attempting to battle through like he is. He may even have ACL damage that is not fully torn and they are trying to manage, either way he needs time to get it right. The worst case scenario is his knee is a chronic issue similarly to what Roo battled the last couple of years running on bone on bone (no cartilage). Hopefully Im wrong and they get it fixed, because he is no where near right ATM.

Question for trackwatchers: Arie has strong hands and is a nice kick. Any reason why he can't go forward if Max misses? He stands out as the player who has really put his hand up for selection.
He is built big but he isn’t a key position player.

You want him on the outside because his weapon is his kicking. He can break zones open

Incredibly taxing game plan

Yes it’s only round 2 for us but the questions will start coming regarding how to manage Pou when he is learning a role. He isn’t having the impact or showing the level of development yet. He won’t be dropped this week (you’d think) but unless something twigs he may be better off learning in the 2s or being assigned another role in 1s. Probably got a few more weeks but the questions will come.
