Frampton is needed down back. I thought he was fantastic tonight, and l wouldn't be moving him from that key back post.
McStay is the obvious choice. He played his best final last year against Melbourne, when he played predominantly in the ruck, with McInerney out.
I would be bringing in either McInnes or Wilson to play the medium forward role. I would also use Johnson as the relief ruck.
McStay might have played quite well around the ground in that final, but he was smashed in the ruck, so much so that his opponent was confident enough to try to take the ball himself from the ruck contests.

Steene with AJ! Are you sure? Seems a really brittle forward structure. Are you sure this is the best we can come up with in the circumstances?
It’s literally exactly what we did last night with Cameron…

I mentioned further down that I misread your comment and misunderstood the 'Steene and AJ' reference. I am in favour of this ruck combination while leaving McStay to play forward.

They really were just waiting for an opportunity to get into Nick huh

I mean, Nick pushing over Rioli was completely unnecessary so I understand it.

Even though I’ve been going to the footy more now that the fiancé won’t allow me to take a week off, I hear that Collingwood chant more in person, but it still gives me the same chills every time.

Richmond are a massive fanbase and we made them sound like a Suns crowd yesterday

You lost me with the whole fiancé story - why won’t she let you take a week off and how does that result in you going to the footy more often? 🤷🏻‍♂️

He baited the 50m penalty, so job done
I didn’t like it. There was just as much chance of him having the free overturned doing that kind of thing.

On a personal level with a few struggles I really needed a win tonight. So, very thankful to our great club.
Hope you're goin ok IGNITER I understand completely and feel the same way my leg was very badly broken by an ill family member and it's been a real struggle I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and a long way to go but the pies winning helps heaps.all the best

Thanks so much PonsfordMagpie for going to the effort of posting Fly's pressers in full every week. It must take you a lot of time to watch the presser and document verbatim what was asked and what was answered. It's very much appreciated because usually you only hear snippets of the press conference.👍
Yep this is always the highlight of these threads for me so thank you PonsfordMagpie

More embarrassing are the comments. So many people genuinely hate Nick.

Pretty sure I saw Rievoldt go up to Nick after the game, and it looked friendly.

Nearly always happens between footballers after games, unless there’s a genuine dislike. We fans might hold grudges - I know I do😳 - but I doubt it’s that common these days amongst the players.

I don't think many players dislike one another, especially with how much they play with each other growing up. But I think the post you're replying to is referring to the social media posts where people froth at the mouth wishing ill upon Nick

The score does not reflect the reality of what took place on the ground.

The Tigers were annihilated in the first half and their "comeback" lasted the best part of 10 minutes in the 3rd.

It's frustrating to read that some of their posters are using the 14 point margin as a positive sign that they're not far off. They were light years behind us yesterday.

I fear jinxing but the defense is rock solid. Bolton, take a bow. This Collingwood team would have no fear for a full strength Richmond side. Any weather. Any ground. Any day of the week.

Concerned about Cameron & Cox being out at the same time but I'm just stating the obvious and repeating what everyone else has already said.

This is the kind of adversity that might set the side up for later on in the year.

I look forward to seeing my Richmond supporting brother-in-law today. Order has been restored.

Can you give some examples?

The only dodgy call I noticed was in our favour (the obvious Frampton HTB that didn’t get called).

The Lynch push in the back paid in the last was dodgy AF, 76. No Collingwood player was involved. Bizarre.

Sure, and there were a few others (that flip tackle late was clearly a wrong call too) … but I thought Richmond could reasonably feel hard done by on a few calls as well.

I don’t think the umpiring favoured either team.

You're far too objective 76. It's not polite in the present company. :)

I think like this too. Is it a Collingwood thing? That we couldn't possibly go on as well as we have, so something going wrong now will mean that the footy gods wont punish us later. I know its a crazy twisted line of thinking, but decades of us stuffing up haven't led to clear thought processes (for me anyway).

It seemed out of character for Naicos, i wonder if there was a reason for it? Maybe Rioli had made a shitty comment earlier or something?
My guess is when Rioli caught one of our players, (Pendles?) they did it.
Gotta laugh at the Tugger supporters calling it soft.
The sniper does it very often and so does Bolton

Edit: Rioli got Josh in the 1st quarter, (no shove).
Maybe Nick was saying ha, we got you too, (don't like the shove btw).
