When it comes to talls I like to look at what a bad game would be, ie. no goals.
Dixon is averaging 2.5 goals a game, or 22.5 ppg.
He got seven free kicks last game, or 14-21ppg.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think there will eventually be a game where he is shut down, kicks no goals, gets frustrated and gives away some free kicks. Dropping his score to 65.

He looks a good option at $304,800.

Has been scoring like nobody's business, set for a big price rise.

Can he keep it up? Good dt choice or not?
Yep, looks very good based on the first two games. Played well against two strong ruck combinations in McElroy/Hickey and Mumford/Pyke.
If he keeps taking the 1st ruck duties then I would expect scores in the 80s. His last two scores have been inflated by 2 and 3 goals respectively.
He does have a very good draw coming up including bris, port, gws and melb.
Definitely worth a punt!

I would trade out Danger and Zorko due to their high BEs. Jack Frost you can trade for Terlich next week when he's due for his first price rise.
Dwyer is a must have. Not many 89k rookies that score 90. Whitfield is another good cash cow.
Not keen on the 3rd ruck as the rucks this year are pretty average. Save your $$$ and upgrade the midfield as fast as you can.

Terlich good point, appreciate it.
I am hesitant like others on here about Westhoff as well so that helps that decision, he does have a good record in the showdowns though just like dangers and zorko could drop a bomb against GC. Ahhh

I had a terrible starting squad, and I can already see mountains ahead that'll probably keep me in the wilderness for the rest of the season. But, it's also too early to give up completely, so I'm looking at:

K. Mitchell > O'Meara. Seems a no brainer.
Franklin > Dwyer.

I have a few options to trade to Dwyer in the forward line, the others being Zorko and Karnezis. Reasoning for Franklin is strength of schedule. I'll sacrifice points initially but if Zorko and Karnezis outperform expectations in the next couple of rounds, they might not leak as much cash as Buddy could.

If those trades stick, I'm just going to have to come to terms with missing the boat on Campbell Heath. The attraction with him was in getting rid of Adcock, who I never should have had in the first place. But if I'm applying a strength of schedule approach to Z and K, maybe I should allow A the same leeway and look to be rid of at least 2 of them by round 6. The cash I'm banking can support a couple of serious upgrades in the next 2 weeks, although it's a little depressing to see it in my cap space and not on the field.

DT must have been awesome in the olden days with unlimited trades and no cap. Oh, wait...

Everyone is trading in Dwyer... There is a high chance he will not play many more games, he might get 1 more, he may not get anymore. Daisy is back this week more than likely, Fasolo and Didak are also just about ready, and Luke Ball is playing in the VFL this week and will more than likely be back in next week. Dwyer will not be in the team once these players are back, and could easily be swapped for Daisy this week.

I agree, all my trades are based around making the extra cash. That being said, there is a risk he may not even get the price rise this week if he is dropped for Daisy. He may get to keep his spot this week, but will only get 1 maybe 2 more games max. Everyone is so blind sided by the fact he scored 90 last week, they are forgetting about the 37 he scored in week 1. You may make 40/50k out of him, but there are far better options with better JS that will make you more over time and certainly far more important trades to be made.

Honestly, I've been far more influenced by the groundswell of support for the idea that he might already be part of their best 22 than by the points.

You want to try to talk me into Adcock > Heath instead? I'm certainly willing to listen.

Okay two things... :p

1. BIG RORY HAS TAKEN UP AFL NOW? DEFINITE IRISH ROOTS :D 2. Zac hasn't started the season off in amazing fashion, but he hasn't started that badly ;) hahah, I kid..

But seriously, if you were willing to risk the possible downfall and suited your structure.. I'd pick him up :thumbsu:

Who gives a flying toss if he started a new thread? Do you guys do anything but whine?

Imagine this board if there was a new thread for every player that becomes DT relevant, it would be flooded with threads that have one or two replies. Better off sticking to the other threads as everyone else does.

Decisions decisions...

I've got Docherty and Lee as non-playing rookies on my side.

Other rookies - Goodes, Stevenson, Pittard, Terlich, Wines, O'Meara, Viney, Kommer, Mitchell, Blicavs, Rowe, Dwyer, Patton.

Am I missing any that people recommend? Should I be content with the herd of cows I have?

Went Grimes > Heppell with my first trade but not sure what to do with my second.

I've got Dangerfield who has under-performed but I think he'll blast out a respectable score this week.

He had a slow start to 2012 too. Didn't take off until he played the power in round 5 and managed 140 points. Before that game he was mostly under 90 points...with a 66 and 78. Despite having all these trades I have to remember why I picked him and that this year will be balancing profit, scoring potential/reliability and flexibility.
