The above might come in handy if Saturday’s game against Sydney becomes a repeat of our 2023 encounter which became the low point of not just our year but our entire existence since joining the competition

Ideally, the players will set themselves to atone for the humiliation they received but early season form doesn’t bode well. The notion that a 10 goal loss would be a good result is as troubling as it is a reality

When a small win would be limiting Sydney to less than 20 goals whilst managing double figures ourselves

We can only hope

And make a booking for group therapy after dialling 171

Edit : Team has been named including a debut for our other first round (rookie) pick, Loch Rawlinson

This game last year I was in a pub with a room full of non-Eagles fans roaring for Sydney to eclipse 200.

At one point it seemed liked they'd cooked it, and it was as close to genuinely happy that this team has made me in a while. But, of course, Sydney got there after all and it was snatched away from me.

Despite how you feel about our season so far, I can guarantee that the Sydney game this year will be a big improvement, as I will not be going to the pub for this one.

1 more game closer to the end of the season.

I just want th kids to show something.

Aim lower!

We dropped off terribly last week after a reasonable first 2 outings (reasonable for us that is)

Sydney coming off a loss...it's going to be ugly but not 171 ugly if we bring the effort from R1 and R2.

I will not be going to the pub for this one.

Will be watching this with Badge at the pub so hopefully they put on a good show for us.

the heat was turned up this. a lot of external noise.
the players need to respond.
Do yourself a favour and lower your expectations now. Or just don't watch the game.

I expect to see the same as the other three games - the boys having a crack, fumbling good opportunities and the ball being sent back the other way as fast as it came in.

Sydney will have far too much class for us so the midfield brigade will have a fight on their hands this week, though they have held their own against three of the better midfields in the comp so far in Port, GWS and the Bulldogs.

I would like to see a little more creativity and movement in the F50. Give the midfielders something to kick to rather than having them bomb it in.

This game will be ugly but the focus should be to execute our skills under pressure. We will start breaking through when we tidy up our disposal and we will shock a lot of people when we do.

We stopped trying in that game last year. The same team with a only a handful of changes (probably for the worse) beat the Dogs later in the year.

Realistically should've been the end for Simmo then and there but whatever. I think we're unift which is leading to the horrible skill errors, but don't think we've turned up our toes the same way yet this year.

Might be a question of does he have the tank at this early stage of his career? Not too unhappy if he only gets a half. We get to see him with the big boys and he gets an idea of what AFL is about. Win:win.
Sensible. Swans defenders will run in waves to their forward line. Its a must that our forwards defend against this. Long looked gassed last week. Keep them Both fresh enough through rotations or sub to be sharp crumbs.
