This is harder than you think it is to pick a team at the moment, only real drastic changes are Poppy and Gibson out. I haven't seen enough of some of the Box Hill regulars, but I want to see something change. Stratton, Burgoyne, Hodge, Roughead, McEvoy and Shiels are names that I pick but part of me feels like I would rather watch a game with the likes of Nash, Glass, Hardwick, Stewart, Willsmore, Miles and Pittonet in the side.

Edit: TazHark15 has informed me Lovell is not available, wasn't up to date with injuries. Shiels into the middle and Whitecross onto the bench.
Shiels to BHH for mine!!!!

Stewart had 26 touches, 9 tackles & 37 pressure acts. Would like to see this intensity against WC. Not sure who for - maybe Poppy if they were ballsy.

Jaeger comes in if fit. Drop Shiels. Playing atrocious footy - needs a spell to get some confidence back.

Vickery for Obrien would be the other possible, but I wouldn't mind seeing Tim have 5 games in a row to confirm cut or stay at years end.

I'd give Stewart a game and for Poppy.

Fitzy comes in for TOB.

The rest get another week. I doubt O'Meara will get up. Russell did not seem that confident on the BUPA report - said he will face a fitness test - and he normally says players are right and up for selection when they are still a week away.

I'm pretty certain he has had an extended rehab, alot of high intensity stuff, they have been over cautious so he may be 100% to go but as you said they may keep him at BHH for another week or so.
Even if JOR is not quite there, I reckon he would do a lot better than some who are there, and have been there for some time now.

It was a Round 5 game against West Coast which produced what was surely the most stunning week-to-week turnaround in Hawthorn history.

In Rounds 2 to 4 of 1994 the Hawks lost three matches by a combined total of 268 points including crushing defeats to North Melbourne by 127 points and Carlton by 87 points. Thus, the Hawks were given no chance against the high-flying Eagles when they travelled to Subiaco in Round 5 1994.

However, the return from injury of Jason Dunstall, Chris Langford and Jason Taylor transformed the team, and, after a slow start, the Hawks stunned the home crowd by taking complete control and winning by 71 points - 19.15.129 to 8.10.58. Jason Dunstall kicked five goals and debutant Tim Hargreaves four, while the leading possession-getters were Anthony Condon (30) and Darren Jarman (25)

I'd be more than happy for us to concentrate on playing the next generation for the remainder of the season. We need to get an extended look at who we think can take us forward and who needs to go.

As much as I love Gibbo, and acknowledge his enormous contribution to the club, I can't see any upside with keeping him in the team.

Kurt was back in training today. But it's my understanding he is going to retire at the end of this year as he's not going to be offered another contract.
i think there's a chap called Connor Nash who has in a very short time gone ahead of Kurt. A kid called Surman might also have been identified as being ahead of Kurt. Of course there might be an addition to the list at end year that trumps all of 'em.
I'd be disappointed if that's the case. Didn't look out of place when he made his debut and his attack on the ball cannot be questioned. Surely we don't make the decision this early, kids been injured and hasn't had a chance to prove himself.

Would love to see Stewart get another go this week - a lot to like about his energy, effort and attack on the game. Sicily and Langford should stay in and I believe it's worth giving Hardwick and TOB another game or two to see what they can do. As for Vickery, well not sure what to think - is he a lost cause or can he improve his output and be part of our next premiership assault? Signs so far not looking to great really...

I had a box seat at Subi for that game and nearly got the sack from my Eagles supporting boss.

seeing flat track bullies like MotFlopHead run around on his own getting the ball so much, makes me really disappointed that Cyril doesn't have games like this. same with Duncan and Guthrie while Breust and Shiels struggle to make a impact.

I might be deluded but I'm kind of excited about O'Rourke possibly getting a run. I know this kid has it in him. It's in there somewhere I promise.

edit: please don't judge me if I back track on everything I have said and call him a hack in the autopsy thread.
You cant be deluded buddy, your'e a Haw supporter! But you might just be hoping that the boys play to their potential and JOR gets a deserved game.

Out: playing everyone defensive side of attacking 50 .

In: leaving at least 2 to 3 players front of center line so when we win the ball we have someone to go too that isn't 10 meters away sideways or backwards.

Out: drafting forwards and trying to turn them into defenders.

In: playing sis and Gunston forward
Yes, definitely play Gun and Sic in their rightful positions.
