As much as I would like JOR to play this week I can't see it. Limited fitness after missing the last 4+ weeks.

1-2 more at box hill

I'm pretty certain he has had an extended rehab, alot of high intensity stuff, they have been over cautious so he may be 100% to go but as you said they may keep him at BHH for another week or so.

Just need to send someone out to smack Mitchell.

It's not possible to tag him out of the game so we need someone to just belt him!
I'd rather we lose than snipe Sam Mitchell after everything he's done for our club.

Scoring graphs from the first 4 games. Clarko's priority must be addressing our second half 'fadeouts' (a generous description of them)

Yep if we played only first halves we'd be sitting mid table at 2-2 albeit with a percentage of 77.4. But if we played only second halves we'd be furthe rrock bottom with a percentage of 45.21%

:(

I might be deluded but I'm kind of excited about O'Rourke possibly getting a run. I know this kid has it in him. It's in there somewhere I promise.

edit: please don't judge me if I back track on everything I have said and call him a hack in the autopsy thread.

I'm with you mate

In: Fitzpatrick, Stewart, O'Meara

Out: Shiels, Gibson, Henderson

Fitzpatrick has easily been our best big man in the reserves throughout the practice games and round 1 and I think he deserves a chance before Vickery. Ty can earn his spot at Box Hill.

Stewart to come in and play midfield/forward, was excellent in the preseason and one of the best for box hill again on the weekend, great tackler and has some leg speed that we desperately need.

O'Meara, obvious reasons.

O'Brien to play in defence, Eagles have Kennedy, McGovern and a resting Vardy/Giles, so the extra height will be needed.

B Burgoyne Frawley Stratton

HB Hodge Brand Burton

C Hartung Langford Smith

HF Breust Roughead Gunston

F Rioli Sicily Puopolo

McEvoy, O'Meara, Mitchell

Int: Hardwick, O'Brien, Fitzpatrick, Stewart

He just needs a really good month without injury and for Clarko to let him have a run at it. The bloke can play.

Any inclusions we make won't win us the game against West Coast. It's purely psychological now. It has been all year. Our injury list has been minimal. It's not about the bodies out on the paddock, it's all about their mind set. The problem is that AFL clubs know how to treat bumps & bruises. It's easy to gauge and say, "he'll be right in one or two weeks" ... but when it comes to the psyche of the players, how do you get a handle on that? How do you treat it? Our issues relate to our mental health more than our physical health or game plan. Even Clarko admitted that he didn't know the answers in his post game press conference.

In line with that, we have continuously lost quality support staff to other clubs. This has also taken its toll. Blokes like Bevo, Cameron, Fagan & Simpson are quality people who are hard to come by. Not only did they nurture our players, they also stood behind Clarko & helped him share the load. It just feels like the cupboard's bare at the moment & I feel as if Clarko (& the club) are under resourced, vulnerable & floating in limbo.

We did so well to rise above adversity & become a self proclaimed "destination club" with the best support staff in the business, but like our fantastic winning streak, it just isn't the case anymore. Get around them.

Out: playing everyone defensive side of attacking 50 .

In: leaving at least 2 to 3 players front of center line so when we win the ball we have someone to go too that isn't 10 meters away sideways or backwards.

Out: drafting forwards and trying to turn them into defenders.

In: playing sis and Gunston forward

Heatherley still injured with an achillies....not coming in raw....still some time away.

Kurt was back in training today. But it's my understanding he is going to retire at the end of this year as he's not going to be offered another contract.
i think there's a chap called Connor Nash who has in a very short time gone ahead of Kurt. A kid called Surman might also have been identified as being ahead of Kurt. Of course there might be an addition to the list at end year that trumps all of 'em.

In the last qtr it seems like we stand around scratching our balls waiting for the game to end and let the opposition score 10 unanswered goals.
Third against the cats was our best effort for that quarter all year, losing it broke the boys for the day
Most of the guys couldn't get up for that last quarter, went into survival mode with the head down.
It was rough, it's where we are at. How we respond this week will be interesting

So true. From the first bounce we had two extra players in the defensive 50. It pretty much stayed like that for the remainder of the game. From that point on, I knew we were gonna struggle to kick goals and I sort of knew we would struggle to stop goals. IMO this overly defensive mindset wreaked of desperation & has added to our woes. Finger in the dike mentality. It would be refreshing to see a more conventional set up in both halves of the ground. We should at least back ourselves in a little. We might go forward out of our defensive 50 for a change, instead of being forced sideways or backwards. Would be awesome to start scoring again from the rebound.

I agree so is it time to play the kids who dont have this mindset..

it doesen't help when seniours players get regulary played out of position bizarre

Talk to us N24

4 points made - would you like to expand on your comments.

By the way like Kurt and wish him the best this year and hopefully for future seasons

for mine im not a huge fan but jor is a must... this could be his season leave him on ball with jager & tom.
also WILLSMORE - how come no one on this site is not including him ? what he knock..
he one of the best user of the ball at boxhill and users it a hell of alot better than shiels or langford. 30 touches on weekend get him in. was emergencey like 7 times last yr! wtf!

i would like to see all the young mids be given a go howe, lovell even cousins if he earned it it doesn't matter if he a first yr player .. look at how sydney and geelong are blooding there talent.

Get the young boys in the middle. with tom and jom.
keep the rest of the seniours boys in there natural positions.

Honestly, I thought O'Brien did okay in the ruck contests. Obviously not a natural in that position, but seemed to generally get a good leap in and timed it well to get the highest point. Also palmed down a couple of nice ones. Clearly we would have liked more from him in an attacking sense but he wasn't terrible
I wondered if I was the only one to notice that. I thought TOB's ruck work was excellent. He at least halved the ruck contests and at best was able to get a hand on the ball to tip it to advantage. A promising prospect there I think.
