Well a thirty minute flight delay much better than the seven hour one I had for the last Gabba Easter Thursday game...

Excited to see what Lohmann can bring to our side. We have got such amazing depth of young talent on our list at the present. Lions by lots.

Excited.

My brother is flying down from Darwin for this game and I'll be heading down from the farm as usual.

Lohmann probably deserves his shot after his last 2 good games in the VFL and yes, Cockatoo probably needs time in the 2's to recalibrate I just thought it came a week earlier. It's 'like' for 'like' players as Fagan would say with their weapons for the field position they will play. Gook luck Lohmann, take a screamer.

I think I'm more excited just to see a new player, a new career starting what ever it may be. The fact that Lohmann doesn't really wrestle he would just rather sit atop of their heads adds to this. On top of that I hate Collingwood from the Eddie McGuire and Buckley era and I can't move on yet so I'm tipping at least a 4 goal win to our boys.

Elliott, Mihocek, and Ginnivan out. At the Gabba.
No excuses, we should be winning this comfortably.
I don't think those Collingwood players out have any bearing on the game as the 3 of them would not get a game in our 22. That said, this game should be a comfortable win despite it being an alleged "Blockbuster Game" which we have a bad record of playing apparently.

They are important to Collingwood. Ive been impressed with them this season apart from last week and I think those outs make a difference where if we won a close one with those guys playing id be happy.
But if we only just win like we did against Port/Essendon with Collingwood missing basically their entire forward line, I wont be.

Adams and De Goey back is much bigger ins than they have outs. But their forward line is terrible (maybe the worst in the comp) we should be able to stop their attack.

They do have some decent players coming together in the backline and midfield but we should be too strong across the park

Collingwood actually look quite an experienced side on paper. Their forward line does look to be a real area of weakness for them but we'd still need to be on our game to win the contest/territory battle. Won't be suprised if it's a tight game tonight but we should have enough to get the 4 points.

How would you rate them on our list? Would they get a game each week in our forward line? Interested in yours and others opinions.

We did try to recruit Elliot a few years ago, so if fit he would. I rate Mihocek too and he'd certainly have a spot right now. But can't say that we need either of them given our forward set up.

Not trying to sound like a dick. But I dont see how this is relevant. Unless I have you mistaken.
They are apart of Collingwoods best 22 so Collingwood missing these players means we should be beating them quite comfortably compared to if they did have those players playing. Doesnt really have anything to do with whether they would get a game with us or not imo.

Yeah maybe not a need.

Given Cockatoo has just been dropped Elliott would surely be getting a game.

Mihocek would be playing instead of Fort you would say. Would he push out McStay? Perhaps.

I am a bit wary of Collingwood. They were very good in the first 3 weeks. Their win against the saints looks better in hindsight. Played very well against the cats before running out of gas. And their biggest issue was goal kicking against the eagles - they would have easily won on expected score which is an interesting stat that can be illuminating.

They are also better off this week - no Elliott or Mihocek. De Goey a big upgrade on Elliott. Adams different to Mihoceck but as good. Roughead their best key defender back. Kreuger looked quite decent earlier this year.

I think we should win especially being at the gabba. But wary of their fast style as well. Hope we have prepped for it as they are a very different prospect to the past few years. It's actually the sort of frantic style that can worry us. Having said that what a bizarrely tall side they have selected. They have gone one too many i think.

Lions by 23 points.

Don't think you sound like a dick at all. The relevance for me is the debate on whether these 3 players being outs makes it easier or more difficult a challenge for our team to win the game. In my opinion those 3 guys are not "big outs" and them missing do not make it any easier for us at all...in fact, the not well known Krueger in could make it harder because we aren't as educated as we should given Miochek, Elliot & Ginnivan intel is much more accessible & up to date.
The DeGoey and Adams in's do, in my opinion, make our quest a little more of a challenge.

Think we should win this comfortably.

One positive COVID test later and it appears I am missing the Easter Thursday clash again :( hopefully Kai's first goal will look just as good on the big screen at home. I guess this is what the big TV is for - plus the beers are cheaper at home too.

I think Collingwood were a little over-rated after the first two weeks, but a little under-rated at the moment. The media have flipped straight from the "finals chance" story to the "teams have worked them out already" rhetoric very quickly, and as the great Leigh Matthews would say, "nothing is ever as good as it seems, or as bad as it seems."

Will be great to watch the Andrews/Adams pairing tonight - the Cox/Kreuger/Cameron combo has never played together before, so hopefully the boys can get on top of any dysfunction they bring to the table with their strong intercept game.

It will also be interesting to see who gets the midfield time that would have been originally allotted to Cockatoo. We desperately need two-way runners in there, but I'm not sure exactly where that comes from in our current 22.

Go Lions!
