Why bother though? It’s not hard to just say nothing. No umpire in the history of the game has changed their decision due to arguing, so why bother ? 50 metres is a disproportionate penalty but players really are thick to still be doing it
Sometimes the players question it to make sure they don't repeat the same mistake, i don't see a problem with asking the question

Because it helps players identify what they've done wrong and learn for the next time. In all aspects of life, especially in sport, the participants should be able to ask questions of those in charge to further their knowledge of the specific incident
