the team is different to the last two years from what I saw at the ground against Freo.
Not as flaky or brittle? if so I agree and think we'll be a handful for a lot of teams this year. If we get an injury or two we might find
a gem or two from the magpies. Frampton Austin Atley Ah Chee even Johnson(?). I'm not convinced Drew is physically ready for AFL.
There are the old standards Lobbe Neade Krak Gus & White. We know their games and have to trust the selectors but it'd be good to at least
try some of these other guys (ya never know). Before anyone says they've gotta earn a call up think Matty White on the w/end.
Ken's probably got Lobbes Gus and Neade first in line but for me a roll of the dice on some might turn up trumps.

I've calmed down after the loss.

.....

I can't see too many changes apart from Ryder for White.

We should remember that GWS and the Camrys are the two most likely for the GF right now.

Saying that, if we can't rotate a few players against Carlton and Brisbane it's going to be a tough year. These days you can't expect 90% of players to play 100% of the season.

This game makes me far more nervous than any other so far. Why?

Because a loss will derail our season completely - and this ****ing Carlton side has a habit of doing that to us.

I'd like to see someone other than Broadbent kicking the ball out from a behind this week
The last time I saw a player carry the ball out of the goal square was Scott Camporeale at Princes Park. Although the umpire didn't pick it up then and Scott just went on with it.

In 2017, Port Adelaide is:

+32 points
+6.5 inside 50s
+4.25 clearances
+3.25 hitouts
+13.75 contested possessions

per game better than Carlton. And they have played Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon and Gold Coast. We have played Sydney, Fremantle, Adelaide and GWS.

All we need to do is be consistent, and improve our contested possession numbers (hence why Krak might be coming back in), and not only will we win, we'll win by 10 goals. No, **** that, more than 10 goals. 20 goals. This is the first game they have against a genuine top four side, and they are going to get pulverized.

Oh, and average age? Port Adelaide average this round - 25 years, 1 month - 95.8 games experience. Carlton average - 24 years, 2 months - 79.5 games experience.

Finally something we can agree on! :p

Will Carlton know where to go? We're into the 4th season of AFL at Adelaide Oval and the Blues have only ever played at the ground once...and what a game it was :D
So basically what you're saying is, their average losing margin at the ground isn't all that flash....

Just a reminder of the 2015 shit show to fire you up before Friday

Someone over on the Customers board was having a dig at me for saying in the OP that Carlton have had a lot of luck on their side when coming up against us lately.

I was tempted to respond with that exact video to show just how much Carlton had go their way that day and how much we had go against us, but I didn't bother communicating with them.
