I have to replace Butters, Adams and May. May can stay for now, can cover him but need to find a defender and a mid for $1,050.

Considering Doedee/Dunks or Short/Cerra or Jelwood but open to any suggestions.
Short and Selwood I guess there

Walsh probably the best option around 550k, but you'd probably fall short on a decent defender

My best option for Butters appears to be Wingard.

I dislike Wingard as he plays without joy, I avoided Martin and Danger pre season as I'd prefer to buy them on the dip.

I'll probs drop Brockman or Campbell down to my forwards and find the cash for Steele or Macrae.
Do you know what role he’s playing this year so far? His numbers are up but it’s a tiny sample. 96, 120 without really hitting the scoreboard is a good start

Advice please.

1: Campbell to Waterman/Butters to Macrae and 90k
2. Campbell to Waterman/Butters to Cerra and 240k

Option 1 the safe trade with guaranteed points. Option 2 the risky trade. Liking the look of Cerra, apart from one poor game, and the cash I'll have in reserve.

Macrae should be in every team.

Daniel to Bowes/Jiath/Heppell or hold and play a rookie for a week.

If I am to trade, Bowes at 500k is the safest bet, should go 100-105 with his role. Jiath represents value as a D6, should go 95+ at 400k, question marks on his ability to last the season. Heppell should go 90 at 320k, should make 130k+ and be a solid enough M8 for a while, but his body is concerning.
The 180k can go a long way to another upgrade next week...

Is this bloke taking all the kick ins?
He's the playmaker in defense for the Suns, they need someone who is a good kick there. I think there will be a lot of ball down that end now that there is no Ruckman. Suns will cope a few poundings I fear.

Yeah, definitely agree with the general logic, where everyone will differ is their assumptions in terms of future output.
  • Saw Daniel as a 100 candidate, don't see him as going any better than 90 upon his return. Say he gives up 10+ pts/wk to the topliners (10*18 =180)
  • This week, many will have to cover him with a rookie. Conservative estimate of differential Butts/Kosi to a replacement premo: 50+pts
  • That would place the pt gain more at 230 pts. Everyone will differ in their estimates of the value of a trade, but 230 pts probably passable here.
  • The catch is how much liquidity folks will have in terms of a single trade replacement target. I'm 2k short of a Mills, e.g., don't love options below.
In terms of Kelly, understand that viewpoint and there's definitely a world where that happens, but the 150+ scores have come in routs and in a conducive role.
The question is how many of them trickle through when neither of those preconditions is fulfilled (assuming they're causatively linked). Just don't know...

Really interesting to be stepped through the alternative arguments, absolutely food for thought - cheers :thumbsu:

I think 90 is extremely conservative for a player of Daniels calibre - although his season average might end up as a total of 90, that would still be 99 from here. 85 season average would still be 93 from here.

He's copped tags before and dealt with them. Brisbane had a highly effective tag yes but even his 66 v the Eagles was probably a 90 game bar 2 really bad kicks that were just out of character errors.

The thing is, the 19 has been copped now and trying to move him on for it is just a different form of points chasing.

How about Noah Anderson? That's a move at around 450k.

Ok, so it feels dirty to say it and I know its wrong.....

Stringer?

It's done, it's out there. I feel so unclean.

Missed Tex, Impey and CJ. I feel like Leisure Suit Larry View attachment 1101284 Looking for love in all the wrong places.
You know I listened to many people say No to tex Walker and missed the first 3 rounds and his big scores. Go with your gut he is playing a different role this year and with all the bombers midfield injuries he is getting more mid time. He had 21 cba’s 78% on the weekend he will be a good buy at his price.

CBAs are about the only mid time he gets and he's not clean enough consistently to benefit massively from it. Lots of ineffective kicks from him as a mid in the time I've watched - will counter out the breaking away from stoppages and goal highlight reels that happen once a month.

Already got Walsh - started the year with him

LOL - rookie mistake - post your team first :p
But, apart from this I'd go with what Andrew Birch has suggested
