Guys need to stop blaming medical staff he passed the tests he was moving well when he went back out, the way it went both times without contact it was obviously just a matter of time. Feel sorry for him I know I am I'm gutted for him but why blame and have a crack at the club

Devastating news if it's true.
What about the hideous guernsey we are wearing??? We all fought for hers to get the hoops back and that lasted three years and 6 games, I embarrassed with that guernsey.

It was clear earlier that he destabilized the knee. Likely weakened it. Why didn't they take him off and rest him knowing full well he's coming back after two knee recons. Someone's responsible for a very very bad decision there. That's a medico decision.

that happened to Luke Ball a couple years back. they put him through some agility tests which wouldn't tested it out. looking at the first incident though they probably should've seen what'd been hit

Goddammit last thing that Smith needs, he can't catch a break. If it's his knee I wouldn't be surprised if he gives it away.

What happened to cause the fracas at the end there?

Nothing to do with passing tests. Those tests tells you if there's any impediment to movement or pain, not if there's structural damage or destabilisation. When you have a guy with Clay Smith's record and he has a knee scare, you simply do not put him back on. It's not medical knowledge, it's common sense.

onto the footy gee it's good we're cashing in here.

Stringer is amazing. Wood- when do we talk AA guernseys? defensive tendencies have been awesome. Koby really impressive too!

Im feeling physically sick, that's it for clay, he needs a new knee or forget about it, there will be nothing left to fix after 3 recos...

Stringer went up to Riewoldt when the goal went through and told him what he thought :p

Terrible end to a really good half of football. I dunno if he'll be able to come back after three of those, but **** those were terrible scenes.

Apart from that, a lot to like about that first half. Koby Stevens has been marvelous and is finally stringing some good games together after being so inconsistent last year. Beyond that, I cringe on the rare occasions the Saints get it inside fifty because we our defenders are being caught one out or out of position on far too many occasions. We were saved a few times that quarter by some iffy free kicks and the Saints players dropping absolute sitters (not under all that much pressure in the marking contest, either).

The tackling in the forward half of the ball is ****ing joyous to watch, though. It is the brand of footy that McCartney set up, but didn't really have the nous to put it all together.
