Noticed that the 'G' on Rhys Palmer's long sleeve jersey is shifted to the left compared to all the others - not the best photo to show it, but it stops halfway underneath the Toyo Tyres logo, whereas the other pretty well reach the seam. Reckon this is just a manufacturing anomoly? palmer.png

I thought hawthorn were playing again, which is probably in part because BLKs colour replication on it is actually pretty good on this, making it less mustardy like ours. More coloured jumpers are undoubtedly better, but a bit more blue and red on this one wouldn't go astray. It's not a bad jumper, but I think it would be better if it were a gold based home jumper with gold shorts, or a red based jumper, which sort of used to be their thing.
As a Richmond supporter you are obviously well aware of the colour issues that BLK have with your home Guernsey, however I have never beard anyone mention this problem with the Bulldogs and live at the game you can clearly soo that there are two tones of blue one on the shirts which is the correct tone and a pastelly looking one on the Guernsey. So really you guys aren't alone in this I just think western Bulldogs supporters haven't noticed

Yes, absolutely the Bulldogs have the issue as well, as do GWS, GC and Brisbane. However, I was talking about Adelaide and did a quick comparison with Richmonds clash, given the similar colours (from last year, anyway, I'm hopeful this years will be better! The signs are there)

Would love to see Sydney in white shorts in all away games
No way looks Terible, causes more of a contrast issue against some teams and you should always try and wear your home strip when you can. Saying that though I would love it if we wore last years heritage strip in Melbourne full time, just without the names and watermark logo.

Because Eddie doesn't want traditional football matchups desecrated by "dressups" as he called it on commentary once.
But Eddie's team isn't wearing it's traditional jumper.

Also why is Carlton Collingwood a traditional match-up and St Kilda Collingwood isn't? Eddie is full of shit and everyone knows it.

In the 2010 GF St Kilda's Tri-Colour and Collingoowd in thier White Jumper and Shorts would have made the best visual and traditional look but no they got to wear Black kit and we had to wear an abortion of a clash kit that only existed because a) Collingwwod changed their jumper and B) Eddie bitched about the Candy-Stripe kit.

Preservation of the founding VFL club traditions - I can guarantee this has been discussed at AFL board level and it isn't an oversight that clash strips aren't used in these matches, it's a strategic decision by the league and the clubs.
What about St Kilda, Melbourne & Geelong then, it's hypocritical bullshit.

South Melbourne/Sydney get a pass because they contrast with everyone anyway and Fitzroy are no longer in the league.

EDIT: And Richmond isn't even a foundation club FFS!

They're wearing their traditional black and white stripes, which is what they've always worn. Sure they changed from white base to black base, but it's still black and white stripes. I think that's more Eddie's thing than "black stripes on white background". When he's fought against the Prison Bars he's always said that Collingwood have always played in "black and white stripes". It's a bit like Essendon switching to have the sash go the other way around - it's still a red sash on black, which is what they consider core to their identity.

St Kilda's clash kit design isn't Collingwood's fault. I liked it but for those who didn't, blame the Saints manufacturer and whoever from the club who ticked the design.
St Kilda wearing it in the GF, well, that's what happens when the opposition and higher-ranked club in the match have chosen (which is their right) to use a black-based jumper as their primary jumper for that season. That's how the clash jumper policy works when it's implemented properly like it was in this instance.

As for what matches are traditional and what aren't, I agree with you there. In Eddie's eyes traditional is big-name, high-attendance, MCG-home-ground clubs. And how that, or any definition of "traditional", gives reason for the clash jumper policy to be thrown out the window, well that's anyone's guess :)

Carlton and Essendon both play a couple of MCG home games a year.
Shall I re-phrase, "clubs who regularly host Collingwood at the MCG".
St Kilda played a MCG home game this year and they've played them in previous years as well and if it was up to the club they would play at least 2 home games a year at the MCG. St Kilda regularly host Collingwood at the MCG.

As a Bulldog fan I actually think BLKs problems are to our advantage. I've always reckoned that our blue has got darker over the years. Maybe I was looking at faded photographs but the blue is darker now. If I could find the bulldogs team of the century painting, the painter even painted the older guernseys that lighter royal blue. But as for the Tigers, black is meant to be just that.

Collingwood's *current* home jumper is black so any team wearing black/navy/brown should be wearing a clash kit away to them just like every other team in the competition.

Collingwood have been wearing black at home since 2001. It's time to let go of what they used to wear. 15 years of wearing the same jumper has some element of tradition to it too. They've worn it in 5 grand Finals, and won a premiership in it. They should be allowed to choose what kit they use in their home games just like every other team in the comp. They should also be forced to follow the same rules of when they wear their clash jumper just like every other team in the comp.

I prefer the white - it would solve so many problems - but fine, accepting your point.

If they follow the same rules other teams - Unless Carlton wore the white clash jumper, Collingwood should wear white shorts when playing Carlton (like Kangaroos and Cats do against most clubs). Making both clubs wear essentially black and white is just downright stupid.

Actually they should wear white shorts against pretty much any team that doesn't have white on their jumper, accept for the unofficial "Red short rule". Same rules.

Another shot - definitely different. Might look at the match replay and see if there's a side view somewhere.

As in it's due for a change to something where the front and the back really match up.

Their first Sydney jumper was alright, with the White back. It would look mint with today's games and jumper designs.
