I'm actually pretty worried about this one. We have a long list of important outs and have just come off a bruising encounter which would have left those remaining quite a bit sore. Meanwhile, St Kilda will be riding high, at home, with fresh legs after their non-contact training run in Tasmania last week.

I reckon if we win it will only be "just". Can't believe some of the margins being said on the main board round 7 prediction thread.

Same old cliche though I guess. These are the games we have to win if we want to be a contender

Depth critical in September

I agree with both of these perspectives - we need to be able to back up from games & also win interstate, so important to win this if we're truly going to contend in September. My fear, unfortunately, is that last Friday's very physical contest & an underdone Cogs may run into a fresh & confident Saints outfit. Fingers crossed we can scrape home.

I agree this game looks a risk
Different structure with key players out. I dont think we're playing well but we've banked 20 points from 6 games so it's working. I do think we're vulnerable over the next couple, but it's form going into September that matters most.

Greene out of forwards, and Haynes out of backs. It's out of shape. Vulnerable over the next three weeks until Cogs & Lachie find their feet and Toby returns.
Losing Haynes so soon after Buntine is hard luck.

Greene and Haynes out - Davis and Coniglio in. Net effect zero

Whoever replaces Reid if he doesn't play won't be too far behind so won't lose much there either.

Far from full strength but should be able to account for the saints without too much difficulty

McClure is reporting that Reid is out? Surely Lloyd will get his debut? Or do we see MDB get his first game for us? Dropping like flies at the moment it seems.

I'm not confident with this one. Last week they played the bye and we played a pack of ravenous dogs in a very tough, brutal encounter and have the injuries to prove it.

Not a bad call
But Leon always announces debutants early in the week. It hasn't happened so I'm assuming Matt Kennedy and Taranto particularly play forward.
Possibly Adam Kennedy to play Reid's role.
Taranto fascinates me, I see him do brilliant things, inevitable I guess, his inexperience leads to poor decisions at times. He does have the advantage some of our mids lacked in that he has more experience and leadership around him.

I have a massive man crush on Taranto. Honestly, I think he is going to be better than The Bont.
JC (our JC, not the one from Jerusalem) just said that Reid believes he may get up, and is not necessarily an 'out'

I assumed Reid was out from earlier reports, happy if he's not.
Taranto may well be, different type of mid though.

I meant to ask...is anyone going to the game?
Naah
Been battling to get time off all week, thought I could but they blindsided me with the threat of an "exciting opportunity", and I'm gonna have to concede and miss my first game for the year.
Wiĺl go to the Carlton game instead as a warm up for the return Bulldogs game.
