Starc not even really listed as a possibility of being dropped from my read earlier in the week. Mitch Robinson is a out through injury, possibility of Witherden coming in for Birchall and there was a fair bit of disdain towards Ah Chee as well. Haven't looked in a couple of days though so I'm not sure if the vibe has changed.
Had a read of the thread, only noticed a few mention Starc, potentially even moving him up to the wing, but surely after that absolute horrendous kick in between three geelong players in the defensive half, he's at least considered. Hope he survives, need him in my plans for next week.

Seems a lot on your board are calling for Witho/Answerth to make the team in your game day thread. Who comes out if they come in? Is it Starc or someone like Ah Chee?

Think they have been reasonably happy with Starc's defense, as he has mostly done a decent job so far (apart from the horror Geelong moments) on the smaller, quicker forwards, and he does add a bit of pace to our pretty slow backline, so can't really see him dropped, unless they are thinking of bringing in Answerth as a more like for like replacement.

We are all a bit divided about Birchall - who looked slow last weekend, with Witho the call to replce him and give Birch a rest. Birch does deliver the ball well, and that is really Witho's role also. Ah Chee also divides our opinions, but he seems to slowly be improving, with the Geelong game maybe his best, so will probably hold his spot.

TLDR - Starc a good chance to hold his spot, as he has done a decent job in his role....

Some interesting ownership numbers looking at the top 100. Swear it can't be true and must have missed it, but Treloar is owned by no one in the top 100 atm, if that stays the same next week I'm pulling the trigger (pending injuries)
As I probably won't have the cash to go from a rook to a premo next week, I think I'll end up going Cripps to Treloar for this exact reason

Just looking to upgrade in my back line at the moment, is Callum Mills a legitimate option? Not overreacting to the 125 on the weekend but outside of that he is only dropped under 69 (nice) once.

72, 74, 38, 80, 69, 125 is pretty solid outside of that one terrible score. It still feels not right doing it though.
Personally I think Short is better value and will score as well for atleast the next few weeks.

I'm happy to be wrong and if he still looks OK then I'll go Aish to him in a couple of weeks

With word that the AFL probably won't return to Vic, does that solidify Short's role for the rest of the year? We may not see Houli again.

Reading the reserves reports I don't think Answerth has been lighting it up. To me it'd just be shuffling deck chairs replacing Starc for Answerth. Unless Starc needs a rest it'd be like-for-like. If Brisbane were fair dinkum then there's a couple that go before Starc.

Reading the Sydney page with Kennedy and Heeney out they may have to completely re-shuffle their team and Mills might see some mid time. He's got a pretty big tank so it could happen, but with Longmire as coach who knows?

Horse will most likely put him one out in the goal square.

OK so I'M definitely going to go Ceglar > Simpson via DPP

Now to the second trade - I can go Taylor > Walters leaving me with exactly $0!! (meant to be?)
OR Tom Green > Bontempelli (5k in the bank)
OR Taylor > Brayshaw (go for value)
OR Starcevic > Short/Smith in defense

I'm leaning towards Walters purely because I think he can start to score really well and he's robs a top 3 forward. He's splaying as a genuine midfielder. Brayshaw has looked great the last couple of weeks (after trading him out initially) however once Fyfe starts to play more in the middle will his TOG decrease?

Keen to hear people's thoughts! 😊

Yeah wait a week on Brayshaw to see role / ToG.

I just need one of Starc / Young or Rivers to get a gig.
Worst case scenario will be Starc is dropped and Young/Rivers are extended benches being the Sunday games. I wouldnt have the confidence in either of them making the final squads this week.
And my likely swapout target in McPherson isnt playing till the Monday, so I may not even know on him either!

I'll be in a pickle as I'll only have ~ $500k to work with moving Starc on in that scenario. Which is a Doedee or Stephen Hill sort of option. Or comit to the double downgrade this week targeting McPherson or Butler (butler may get dropped also...).

Though in saying that.... Cegs+McPherson probably wont even score Whitfields score. So I'd almost be better off copping the donut! haha.

I’m in a similar boat. I highly doubt Young will play, so I need Starcevich to get a game. I have McPherson to cover one of them (surely doesn’t get dropped), but I really don’t want to miss out on a downgrade to either Simpson/Rankine, and an upgrade of Ceglar.

After two weeks of copping the Rowell/Smith (2pts) and then the Young/Taylor (12pts), I’m just about ready to cop a donut this week to do the trades I want.

Season is cooked after falling from 5000th to over 11,000th in the last two weeks anyway.

If Simpson goes 50, 50 and out how much money will he make over those 2 weeks?

I see a very low JS for him (remember Constable)

Maybe Rankine is the safer bet JS wise, and a slow burner to make money.

Simpsons BE is just so good, feels wrong to miss it

I'm thinking in terms of who could be a player who I'm happy to field in my main squad.

Simpson - tick for sure.
Rankine - questionable. Could be one of those slow burn forwards scoring 30-50. I've already got Max King and Aarts doing that I'm hardly lunging for a third.

That said, if Rankine backs it up with another 50+ i'll be grabbing him as a priority next week.

Is Simpson one of the first men out in a fully fit Geelong team? Would hate for him to stink it up tomorrow night and be left with him rotting on my bench.
Maybe, but if he can score 46 this week he'll rise by $62k.
I think he'll get the next 2 games at least anyway so could be $100k in 2 weeks which is worth a trade for sure.

Wouldn’t be so sure. Duncan will be back next week and they are itching to let Cockatoo loose.

If Simpson plays poorly tomorrow he could be out.

I would think keep Green due to Ward out.

I like:
Taylor -> Walters
Starc -> Short or Smith.
Perhaps if Starc is dropped pull the trigger on that move? Otherwise go with the Walter upgrade.

Time to bail I think (I am).

McEvoy's minutes have been increasing with each passing game almost like they're prepping him back for ruck duties so they can drop Cegs.

In any case. He's had long enough now to show something, he was handy early for DPP but there's no value keeping a $550k+ player averaging 50 now. May as well be Rankine or Simpson.

Thats what i was wondering with the slow trend. As much as i would like to bring in Simpson AND Rankine, i will just let Rankine go for now and get a premium for Ceglar, thinking Simpkin. I am guessing that i dont need to rush Rankine in, and i have developed a bad taste in my mouth about leaving cap (basically points) on my bench for a double upgrade next week (when this weeks upgrade should cost more also)

Is Mitch Hibberd a better option than Sam Simpson?

Hibberd- 237k, BE -7. 66 last week. Shiel is out for a fortnight so JS looks good for at least then

Simpson-232k, BE -36. Looked great last week but maybe benefited from Geelong loosing 2 mids early? Steven back in the side, Duncan likely to only miss a week. A poor game and he’s straight out?

I’ll need to ride one of these guys on field for probably 4-5 weeks. So keen to hear some thoughts?

Dylan Stephens is better then both

Stephens better than both? With no Heeney and no JPK? JS could be best of the lot

Hindsight in 3-4weeks may say hibberd. But I'm playing the BE game on this and grabbing simpson this week.

I'll look to grab hibberd next week if he can produce another 60.

Mid rooks are certainly the best scorers.

I've currently got anderson / serong and now simpson on field as my mid rooks.
In 1-2 weeks I think that'll become zorko / hibberd / simpson.
