Trades Round 7 Trades

33 games in 19 days will throw a spanner in the works. Hoping AFL Fantasy get out ahead of it and put some clear guidelines in place so we can work around it. I'm expecting something half-baked though.

Yeah what a head f*ck. Could it work splitting the round into 2? Like mon-thurs/fri-sun with 2 lockouts and 2 trades in each? Gonna make it so hard otherwise with 2 trades in 7 days worth of games

A rolling lockout with no captains, and a set amount of trades to use over the duration of the period would be ideal. Trying to create even rounds in this mess when some teams will play more than others seems impossible.

Only count the first time each plays over the 19 games and forget the rest?

Looking at cheaper options instead of Grundy. Think he may be a little cheaper next week and hoping Pitto has another 1-2 weeks price rise in him.

Some possibilities and in my current order of scoring+value - any that jump off the page to others?

Greenwood
Swallow
Short
Mills
Daicos
Lambert

I'm bringing in Lambert this week. I watched him vs Sydney and he was everywhere, playing midfield as Cotchin, Prestia and Edwards are out and Dusty is playing deep forward. Back to back tons and still priced under $600K with 6% ownership makes him a good pick up I think. Now watch him stink it up with a 30 or something this weekend lol.

Bloody hell no matter how many hypothetical trades ive done this week i always end up getting Grundy. Just need the opportunity to have 2 cracks at Captain this week. Do u guys think he will repay yhe faith this week.

I yielded and got him last week. I honestly wish I hadn't.

If you don't have him I'd wait 1 or 2 more weeks tbh. Anything sub 90 and he's probably going to drop $60-80k in the next 2weeks.

Who knows what hub Grundy entails.

But he is going against FORTTTT. Gawn almost tonned and he had a bad game by his standards. Imagine if Grundy just played ok. I can see him reaching his BE of 118. Also has a history of doing well against geelong.

AND its a Thursday night blockbuster... he's going large, VERY LARGE (i hope)

Yeah thats the risk I guess. But do you have another captain option to offset that?
I just wouldn't be paying almost $900k for a player with a 50 in the chamber though.

Assuming there isn’t any extra curveballs coming at selection, going Brander to Simpson and Rozee to Greenwood.

Rozee has really dropped his scoring the past month and Greenwood looks a must have forward with Rowell out.
Leaves me with 1 rookie in the forward line and hopefully that becomes Smith next week

DEF: Docherty, Crisp,Houston, Doedee, Starcevich, Young (Hamill, Rivers)
MID: Neale, Macrae, Viney, Mitchell, McGrath, Whitfield, Pickett, Anderson (Budarick, McInerney)
RUC: Goldstein, Pittonet (Xerri)
FWD: Petracca, Simpkin, Smith, Ceglar, Brayshaw, Taylor (Aarts, King, Sturt)

Ceglar > Rankine
Starcevich/Young (depending on selection) > Haynes
Leaves me with 330k.

Prefer Rankine's JS to Simpson (I've got enough NPRs at the moment, thanks...). Think I'll gamble that Taylor and Pittonet both meet their breakevens this week, and look to upgrade to Grundy/Gawn next week.

Ceglar broken toe apparently for anyone still holding him

Jesus. Wanted to get rid of him anyway, but have Young/Starcevich at D5/6, with only McPherson as cover.
Please Fantasy gods, allow Starcevich to play, or at least gift me with a $170k defender rookie.

Fyfe ruled out and looks like Young won’t be back until late in the season.

Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe will miss Sunday’s RAC Derby.

Defenders Hayden Young (ankle) and Griffin Logue (toe) are not expected to return until at least the tail end of the season but general manager of football Peter Bell was hopeful that ruckman Sean Darcy would play against West Coast.

Bell said scans had confirmed a strain in Fyfe’s right hamstring.

I'm almost fairly confident Simpson is going to be a trap and dropped in 1-2 weeks.

And yet It's too enticing of a first score to ignore.

In the wet he'll perhaps have a lot more CBA's again with Duncan/Narkle out. Perhaps a lot of tackles to go with his 5 last week.

If he scores 80+ you'll be left wondering what it is you were smoking when you opted for Rankine or someone else instead.

I'm in the trap and even when it goes bad I don't think I'll be disappointed. You simply have to grab a rookie priced player after they score a 120+ BCV!!
