Round 7 Trades

If it were me..

Hall>Horsely (use the Treloar DP) and save Shiel & Magner for another week or 2. You can get your mids DP link back in 2 weeks with Zorko AND make another 200k+ profit

&

Goodes> Adams (go for the cash grab!) Porps has a B/E of only 18 can make another 20-25k this week.

Next week you have 500k+ to upgrade 2 of Shiel, Magner, Porps & Devon to just about any 2 GUNS of your choice!

Great call on the Hall - Horsley trade using the Treloar DP. I actually completely forgot that we can do that this year. :thumbsu:

If I were to do the above trades, I'd actually have over 700k spare so I could theoretically go on an upgrade spree over the next few rounds. I just have to be careful not to use too many trades at this stage of the year.

This way it also means that Zorko would be an added bonus, rather than somewhat of a necessity. I can then actually assess how he goes properly before making the call of whether or not to trade him in.

McCarthy --> Horsley
Masten --> Boyd

Still undecided on Boyd, might get a different premium in. He seems to be the frontrunner for the job though.

Looking at doing 2 of the following:

Golby > Heppell

Kennedy > Horsley (but lose DPP)

Magner/Shiel/Devon > Horsley

Hall > Adams

But which 2? Anyone have an opinion?

Pretty simple equation for me this week

Kennedy > Horsley

Lose my Midfield DPP but will gain that back in a couple of weeks for the bye rounds when i plan on downgrading Shiel > Zorko

Goodes> Beams

Narrowed it down to Beams/RoK but decided to go with Beams in the end. Only leaves me with 40k but in all likelihood i wont be upgrading next week as my team is fairly set atm

was going to bring in Cox for McEvoy but now tempted by Sandilands...is he worth the risk??

I have him...atm i probably wouldnt in your position. Prefer to invest the $$$ into my mids or fwds as all the rucks are useless.

Only thing is with COx he will score well when nic nat is out. but im personally not convinced on him when he gets more of a fwd role when nic nat takes over as main ruck.

who should i trade,

Kennedy or hall

Kennedy has a high b/e but can easily reach it on a good day, whilst hall can't get a game for some reason.

You may be in a bit of trouble if...

A) Ablett is a late out
B) Rumours that Bartel will be a late out.
C) Neale named on extended bench - could be sub if he does play
D) J Mac "rested"

Yeah I considered scenario's A and B..
Given everything I've seen on Ablett, looks like he'll play.. but I'm not forgetting the Birchall saga... ;)
I may revert my trades and trade Neale out instead so I can put Bartel on the bench , he's not being used as often as I was hoping.
J Mac I'll keep for a while longer to maximise $ gain.
Beauty of the revert option, think that was a good idea.

Trading Goodes out for Buddy. Not sure what to do with McEvoy yet. May go with Giles as my second starter as I'm not really convinced with the other premiums. I have McIntosh so Cox is not really an option.

2 trades this week, Magner to Mitchell and Golby to Suckling.

Had heaps of cash so didn't think it was necessary to get Horsely, especially with Greene, Treloar, Shiel and C.smith all playing in the midfield and making $.

Got my best team in for the year, should be a good round!

What are everyones thoughts on upgrading Devon Smith. Am looking at Zaharakis for 389k but my forward line will be finished and it wont have Beams should i wait till next week and do another downgrade to bring in beams who will prob rise about the same a Devon or just stick with value and bring in Zaha? Thanks

FWDS Currently

Robbo Sidebottom Chappy Franklin Dangerfield Martin D. Smith (Treloar Hall)

i hate finishing my fwd line and back line before my mids. I try to upgrade mids first because they are the only consistent scorers. If you upgrade your fwd line, it is no guarantee that they will score 100+ each, whilst if you upgrade mids, that is basically guarantee. IMO i would hold of trading smith, he is a good dtmer and for the short term he could average close to zaha (fwds and back premiums are very inconsistent generally). Also when you upgrade to premiums, try to get the best available not best value, when upgrading its all about points not money so i would hold off till you can afford beams. But this is my strategy others may beg to differ.

Hey boys

Have the joys of burning a trade on good old goodes this week but looking at getting horsley this week as well

Am going to trade Greene to Mitchell in two weeks which will leave only one rookie on the field. I see your argument about Mid Premos vs Fwd Premos but you could say the same for the rookies im more than happy to start mid rookies like greene J mac or Horsley because they are consistently good where as the fwd rookies arent. Plus these guys havent peaked yet.

I know it would be very tempting to get Mitchell into your team but his BE is huge and he should be 20-25K cheaper next week. Plus Magner should be worth 20k more. 45k for 1 week delay could be worth it.

You could hold off on this trade til next week and then if you wanted you could get Horseley.

For me this week standard

Magner to Horsley
Devon Smith to Adams.

Don't really want to trade Smith to Adams but I need the cash for Ellis and Shiel to Mitchell and Goddard next week.

Goddard and Mitchell both bottoming out next week so trying to get the cash to do the double upgrade then.

Could do Hall to Adams or Clay Smith to Neale/adams

But both of those trades leave my cash touch and go for the double upgrade next week and I don't think I want to take the risk cos if things don't work will need to trade Bugg to Goddard instead of Ellis and I will be too heavy round 13 bye if I have to keep Ellis.

arrrgh, not easy

who should i trade,

Kennedy or hall

Kennedy has a high b/e but can easily reach it on a good day, whilst hall can't get a game for some reason.

I traded Hall. Think Kennedy will go up a bit and getting more games.

On the downside it has left me with 4 R11 forwards (danger, smith, kennedy, treloar), and i have lost my mid/fwd dpp link. But will get it back with shiel --> zorko in two weeks time (leaving mcdonald and zorko as my only r11 mids).

ideally if i can bring in a r12/13 rookie downgrade i should be ok, but no idea who. currently looking at 2 zeros in my forward line, and 2 zeros in my rucks for round 11 (none in mids or defense). should be able to remove at least one, but will try to keep it a long-term trade.

this week i went the most boring trades possible:

goodes --> horsley
hall --> beams

Anyone trading out Magner needs to consider their side in relation to the bye... I myself have C Smith, Magner, Shiel and MacDonald. Decided to trade Shiel as he and Magner have almost the same BE but Magner has the bye... Will trade out Smith in a couple of weeks as i want more cash from him. Thats 3 round 11 byes. Horsley is a round 13, so by trading one of those 3 i won't get a 0 at all in my mids from the bye rounds. Also planning on doing Magner > Rockliff for round 12 :)

Tossing up whether to get rid of couch or Kennedy or hall for Adams

Currently have GAJ, pendles, swan, Thompson, Barlow, Greene, horsley, couch

Fwds : Martin, side bottom , Robinson, Franklin, Kennedy, d smith, hall, treloar, pfeiffer

Extremely weak forwards.

Not sure if getting rid of couch or hall might be better for a downgrade later, have 17 trades and 340k in the bank.

Kennedy seems like the logical choice for a cash injection but it would be nice to get rid of couch or hall
