Ryan hasn't done s**t for about 3 years. Even at the press conference last week Simpson was like "Ryan will be good for the run. Just good to get him through the game." Why can't he "get through the game" at WAFL level and be made to put in AFL level effort for AFL required game time before he gets selected?

I'm agreeing with you. Ryan shouldn't be anywhere near AFL for at least a month.

But I reckon Simmo wants to capitalise on the last month of positives and decided to bring in an underdone senior instead of one of the kids like he should have.
