I am still dissapointed about yesterday.
To kick seven goals in a quarter but only six more for the rest of the game.
To stop running, and revert to static timid football.
To lose a game against a team that really we had the measure of.

The injury thing explains why we dropped off so badly, but it doesn't really temper the dissapointment.

The more I think about it, the more realitic my thinking becomes.

An already depleted line up loses 3 of its running half backs to injury (Harwood, Adcock, Beams), the captain is playing with 3 broken ribs and another player pushing through with a broken jaw. In essence, we have 16 healthy players and its a 26 degree day with high humidity and we only lose by 22 points.

I am not prepared to take anything from that lose, good or bad, its just too effected by injury.

It is still diserpointing as most of us thought we could win, epecially on our form of late, but in all reality it wasnt meant to be.

What is more generally diserpointing is its a devalopment year, and 40% of our players arnt out there devaloping, this year could very well be a nothing year - especially as our young talls arnt on the park.

I think injuries have given the opportunity for the below players to have extended game time and have played quite well in the opening 9 weeks :)

Andrews
Robertson
C.Beams
Paparone
Taylor (32p with 95% TOG on the weekend)
McGrath
Lester

Each of them bring something different to our team and are far from the finished player - but all are young and are currently fighting for the places 16 - 22 in the team moving forward (bar probably Taylor who can be top 10 in a couple of years).

Yeah good point. It goes both ways. It Still feels like a year to devalop as a young side has gone begging in some ways.

To keep it under four goals with the outs pre and during the game is not as bad as it seemed on the day.

Overall the season, while disappointing Leppa seems to be getting some pieces of the puzzle put together. A new look YOUNG back six, new wingers and Lester up forward have been successful auditions. List turnover this year would seem to indicate half a dozen expeierenced campaigners moved on for new blood as the list will get even younger.

The pleasing thing is that those outs are of players who are not best 22.
