Duryea swung an elbow back in frustration while trying to get up from a pack after the ball up had been called and he copped Ballantyne on the jaw.

I doubt he meant to hit Ballantyne in the jaw with the elbow (he wouldn't have known he was there and could've just as easily got a teammate) but he also didn't need to throw the elbow back. 0-2 weeks depending on how the MRP view it.

Wonder if the Biliionaires loss will be a good or bad thing for us come next Friday night ???
I wondered the same thing. Think we can only know in hindsight.

Do they go home tonight deflated and dredding what they now expect is a loss to Hawthorn (us having just had consecutive 40+ wins, one of which was over Richmond, and it being at the G)?

Or do they go home fuming, eyeing us down as their chance at redemption for what happened tonight?

The realistic perspective is we're playing too many inexperienced players, albeit unavoidably; our structures and and cohesion have been dramatically affected.

The substitution of our mature players (Roughead, Hodge, Rioli, Shoenmakers) will in part rectify this problem, hopefully in tandem with improved player performances, we'll see a much more bonded group.

I would guess they will be revved up, they will have a point to prove. Game becomes a lot tougher for us.

We need to win the midfield. This is not about winning contested ball or clearances but each player rotating through there must not only make their direct opponent accountable but beat them in all aspects. Their defence does not like pressure and reacts badly to it (Grundy?Richards? Please!) and as we saw today a lot of ball going there and they do not react well. Keep the midfield going backwards and I don't care who they have up front I'd back Frawley, Gibbson, Stratton supported by Brand, Burgoyne and Doc to at worst break even.

If we turn up and Hawks football, we win by 20+.

Their mid field is obviously high quality but their back half is really suspect. Win and they go back to the middle of the pack. My initial feelings is that we should win by 3-4 goals.

From the AFL website. Guess 2014 didn't register with the flogs at AFL House. Watch out for the mother of all rogerings from the umpires next Friday night.

Hopefully our players don't remember 2014 and play with the same intensity as the 2014 GF driven by the pain of 2012...

Just ventured over to the Swans board and there's not much confidence coming from them. Still hurting from their loss to the Tigers I guess. Should be an intriguing game. Sydney can be suspect on the MCG and Hawks are far from their best. Can't wait.

Shitney ruined both of my multi bets last night but never truly unhappy to see them lose.

They had no idea what to do in the final minute last night. Absolutely no composure or system. It was just hack it forward and hope for the best.

Both of their close games have resulted in losses. I hope we blow them out of the water but if the game is close I'd back our structures.

Would not be surprised if the Rioli family simply tell Cyril to "go and make us proud"...

Possibility of a clinic incoming.

Is Cyril setting up a Quickie Mart?

I'm not sure that's a good idea.

If we put in a very competitive performance and lose, I typically would be happy at this point—because we're building and Sydney are will be at pretty much max strength.

However, I am having a birthday party that evening, and my only good Australian friend is coming... who supports Sydney (A Sydney sider who was converted to the game in 90s and is not just casually interested). The thing with this guy is he never watches the game live because of work and always asks that I avoid telling him the score. I am confident I can avoid telling him anything if we win, but if we lose, it will be hard (Believe it or not he is actually a really good guy and has been extremely complimentary of Hawthorns success).
Liar:p

I'm the son of a Swan. That's kind of like being a son of a bitch yeah?

My dad is such a shit stirrer too. Argh - so want to win!!!!!

This game will be won or lost by how we play, not by how they play. If we turn up, we have it. If we don't, we lose. Simple at that.

Re: a poster's comment above about structures. I know it's an early call, and i'm a big schoey backer, but I reckon i'd keep ToB in the side even when Schoey comes back. Maybe have schoe until rough returns, but if we play two key forwards it's ToB and rough for mine.
