Yeah GAJ is out for me this week now. I'm gonna sideways/upgrade him to Merrett and swap Merrett forward for Wells. Other trade will probably see me trade Adams to Mullett in the backline and move him on the field for Byrne. Leaves me with ~$90k to bring Suckers back next week for Mills.

Do u know any jet stat that suggests why longmire doesnt like him. Is his kicking efficiency bad etc... All i know is he was benched a fair bit the last couple years.

Very happy with last rd trades bringing simpson and trengove in, but still sooo many holes to fill. Thinking:

Fantasia -> Z Merrett (Tippa DPP)
M Crouch -> Hopper

Montagna is also looking good for price, so Crouch could stay another week and Mills might make it out instead as I don't have quite enough cash to still reach for Merrett with Mills trade...

Concerning signs for T Mitchell and only 69% TOG though. Davis, Wright, Cameron, Papley all still need to be moved...

Yeah I was thinking about that. Just seems with how inconsistent he's been he won't be near a top 6 defender like I initially thought. A break-even of 108 doesn't fill me with much confidence either. On the other hand, Simpson has had one bad game early on and has otherwise been very consistent.

Was hoping to hold Ablett but now that has been ruled out for the week I think it is time to move him on. Thinking of going Ablett to a Treloar, Z.Merrett, Dangerfield type. Z.Merrett Is looking like a good option as I get that FWD/MID DPP link for the bye rounds. Other trade would be a M.Adams down to a T.Mohr type option leaving me some cash for next week. Others on the Radar are Jack Steven and Brandon ellis as cheaper options in for Ablett.

What are your thoughts? Cheers

Armitage is killing me- dropped $150,000 this year. Had hoped he and Steven would be my most consistent performers. No point trading him now, will only go up with Saints softish draw in coming weeks (hopefully).

thinking of going with menadue and ablett out for 125k ruckman and hopper then move mason cox to forward line f6 leaving 360k to double upgrade someone of the likes of j smith, mcdonald, kerridge, mcarthy etc. thoughts on this?

EDIT: i could go ablett to hopper then menadue to lynch (adelaide) is it worth the risk?

While Treloar would be great (definitely make it a priority to bring him in at some stage!), I think the best improvement to your team would be downgrading ablett to a cheapish mid (Hopper/macpherson?) and getting in Merrett or Montagna to bolster your FWD line. that way if wells comes in you'll be set down there. Will also add flexibility if you wanted to stick Tippa forward to bench mullett. Although it's a coin toss who'll go better from that lot!

Taylor Hunt came back into the side on the weekend, unfortunately he and Morris will hold down the Houli role. Casagna would be next in line but Nathan Broad has be going alright in the VFL by all reports and should get a chance before Houli returns.

However Chris Yarran will leap frog them all when/if he gets fit.

Trades: - changed due to news on houli today, need to get him out and need to move ZSmith on.

Houli + Rocky -> K.Simpson + Goldstein (Greene to Mid, Cox to FWD) - leaving me $64k in bank

i am banking on all my * to play this week, otherwise doughnuts everywhere for me again

plan next week is to get rid of Z.Smith and another downgrade want to get in Zorko ++

Byes planning is a factor now, need to get more players who will have their bye in the third round. Currently looking at:

McGovern -> Griffin (slight downgrade to free up some cash, Freo has some easier games coming up)
Papley -> Hopper via DPP (thanks for the Hopper suggestion)

Crouch and Leuenberger are the other borderline trade options. Was considering Redpath due to his low BE too. But overall this moves me from a bye setup of 18|18|24 to 19|19|22 which is at least a step in the right direction.

Papley -> Hopper is an awesome trade!

I dont think holding Gaz is a good idea. He hasnt shown much this year and 1 week could easily be 2-4 weeks. They r always real carefull with him. Now is the perfect time to trade him i think

Looking at going Ablett > MacPherson and Wells > Zorko leaving $167k in the bank

Luckily I don't have Boyd, Houli or McCarthy. This frees up a lot of cash evens my byes out slighty and allows me to upgrade McDonald or Dea to a premium.

Houli to Docherty, Simpson or Vince?

I'm thinking Docherty at the moment, just to save a little bit of money but I can't help but feel the other two are far better options.

The consistency is with Simpson and Vince with Simpson's lowest score in his last 5 being 99(highest 116) and Vince's lowest 92(highest 106). Dochert has had 62 and 87 in his last 5, his L3G is very high due to 140 last Sunday. Although he is also the cheapest.
I have Simpson and after Heath Shaw and Dayne Zorko he is the last I would think of swapping for someone else. Had Bachar Houli but he proved too inconsistent and he was then of course injured, which did in fact prove a godsend to me because I could then downgrade him to Trengove who was $240K at the time. Although a defender(in which position his scores were pitiful) he is being played as a ruck and has had two 95's on the trot. The way he plays the game he will never get many taps but follows up with tackles, clearances and around-the-ground work. Even against NicNat and Gawn in the next two weeks he should score in the 70-80 range. Not great if you want a premium defender but great to get money to spend elsewhere. He is $270K and his BE is 1 so he is nearly certain to be over $300K in two weeks.
