I'm really scared that some teams will start resting their star players for the easy games to keep them fresh for the tougher matches later on. If Melbourne start resting Gawn my team is ****ed.

Both Grundy and Gawn have a two 4-day break games! Even with good bench cover in other positions unless you have Darcy Cameron as your emergency ruck id say a few teams will be copping zeros unless they trade out their rested player.

Going to be hard to navigate where to chuck your emergencies too..
Potential for 2 or more players from any particular line being named out or a late out after guys on your bench have already played.
Think I'll aim to put the E on anyone who is guaranteed to play early in the round and have another ready to go rather than try to pick which one will score better.

Also. I haven't owned Bailey Smith all year but I'm gonna have to jump on him from Taylor this week I think. Too cheap not to at $571K
Any update on how far away Dunkley might be?

If you've already got Cameron and no other red dots on your bench to fix up, then I guess it could be worthwhile. I'd still be prioritising cash gen where possible. For me, I don't think I'll be getting too cute with loopholes at the moment. It'd have to be a monster VC score (like 120+) to run the gauntlet. At least that's how I'm leaning at the moment.

Seems like a bit of a waste of a trade though. There's no other playing rookie you could get to make money instead, and then switch Cameron to R3?

Also by "Sunday" games, I'm assuming you mean "end of round" games?
Yep sorry, meant end of the round. Only other trade would be a Taylor down (to who? Have close, Rankine etc) or a Williamson to Watson (will he be named?) Or moving a mitchell onto a zorko type (making some $$ and about 10 points)

Posted pic of team with one trade left after going

JMac -> Close
Cavarra -> Cameron
0k in the bank

EDIT: Looking at this, I really like the move of Anderson to Matt Kennedy, thoughts?

Just realised you’ve got McCluggage. What do we do with him? Been underwhelming lately

also like the idea of getting Cameron as cover, one I’m considering as well

Tossing up between TStewart and Dusty.

Stewart likely top 6 amongst the putrid defender options and Dusty averaged 107 from round 9 onwards last year after a sluggish start - de ja vu?

brown and ling isn’t allowing as a trade? Def and a mid.

It does if you have a D/M like Starcevich/ButlerWB/Houston etc in your Def line that you can swing to the Mids or Utility position during the trade - as I have done with Starcevich with my trades.

Thoughts ?

T Stewart is a great shout, but B/E of 99 so you can most likely nab him next week for even less. I've got my eye on him too - need a nice reassuring 80-odd from him this weekend to jump on.

Given his last two scores were 17 (injury) and 54, could even wait 2 games (that's my plan).

So so underwhelming. Planning on zorko missing at least 1 so hoping Mclug fires then. Probably look to offload him once I get Mac/egg off my field first.

Yep I think Cameron is almost a must-have if you don't have him. Just the security as I can see a Grundy rest with their condensed fixtures. People are saying he won't, but how is it any different from a trealor getting managed? He's taking a huge workload this year and visibly looks hampered

Under performer fix up for me this week.

H.Young > Close
Parfitt > Gaff
D.Smith >Greenwood

Gets in two likely top 6 players for their position.

Macrae VC
Gawn C

Yep. The more I think about it, the more I think Cameron is such a smart in. Don’t want to risk a donut in the rucks particularly as all the good rucks like Grundy, Gawn, Goldy, Witts etc are getting 80’s

I'm seriously considering picking up Seedsman for a few weeks while Brouch is out, to ride his BE and hopefully pick up 100-130k.

Can someone save me from myself?

I’m thinking the same thing but I’m not sure if I feel comfortable knowing that he is going to spud it up big time eventually

Benchie question - Who is more likely to play this round - Ned Cahill or Collingwoods T Brown ?
Sidebottom back in as well as maybe Varcoe, don't think Brown gets a game this week, but is the last game of the round, so you never know what could happen between now and Sunday.

If that happened id honestly probably just cop the donuts. Even a playing emergnecy won't be scoring much.

Fyi just as a reminder if your trades don't involve bulldogs or tigers maybe dont do any today and reassess.

I'm noticed that even with none of those guys involved the app won't let me reverse all three trades without a roll back. There's not even any dpp involved.

The app will be buggier than ever so best to just leave it as late as possible before pulling the trigger.

Only only decision for tonight is whether to field or emergency eggmolese?

Edit: Just realised I would have been stuffed as I want to trade bennell or mcinerny to close then swap him to forward bench. I'd moved bailey Smith to the middle. Which in essence locks him in after tonight and I can't reverse that trade!!

Tread carefully!

Thought I was in a good position still having Darcy Cameron as R3, however now that he's likely to play a few games, loopholing Gawn will no longer work

Nice looking team! I can see why you're in a position to consider a tactical throwaway trade for a good loophole option. If that's your jam, then go for it.

Agree with you that there aren't really any rooks you don't already have that are screaming pick me right now. At least no-one you can't wait a week on. Maybe Ling as the best of an uninspiring bunch - at least he'd bank you some cash to upgrade Lukosius next round.

I can see where you're going with the Kennedy option. I don't know much about him, but I'd be wary of using a big score against North as a guide. Personally I'd be wanting to upgrade rather than go sideways from Anderson - he's been such a solid scorer. But if Kennedy goes well again against Hawks, you've made both points and cash gen over two rounds (round 10 bye, as I'm sure you're aware), plus a bit of bank. Bit of a risk, but high reward.

Sorry mate, I'm not much help. But looks like you're on the right track - I'd have more faith in your decisions than mine haha. Good luck!
