Euro's kicked off Friday night German time in Munich.

Scotland played Germany and the Tartan Army in great spirits took over the streets and pubs of Munich, marching thru the treets with bagpipes blaring and singing.





I don't how many of the 70,000 seats in Allianz stadium in Munich were taken up by Scottish fans but they sound like they have the majority of them. It din't help they lost 1-5 to Germany.

 
Switzerland beat Hungary 3-1 Friday night.


Saturday its Spain v Croatia and Italy v Albania.


The Olympic Stadium in Berlin holds 75,000 - 50,000 Croatians have rocked up to watch their team.

I swear to God, I have the faintest idea on why this FABLE created straight out of the other club in town became dominant, but that’s how things are.

They need this for self-affirmation, I suppose. Not only about us, but it’s also about them. It’s simply not true. It’s amazing…

(Yes. Grêmio had issues with Black players, but so did they. And it was relative. They forget their sins and accentuate ours.)

So, one example, this is Lupicínio Rodrigues, our most famous supporter around the time they say we were “nazis”:

I see Internacional are also considered Elitist and More Right wing than Left. Just not at "You're all ****ing Nazis" type levels (maybe to do with German foundations of the club?)

That’s part of the fable.

Grêmio was a club WITH Germans, but it wasn’t a German club. In the same day we were born (06/15/1903), another club was founded in Porto Alegre: the Fußball Club Porto Alegre.

That club, our first rivals, was only for Germans. Grêmio was open. Somehow, their story mingled with our own. Unfortunately, they no longer exist, so they can’t have a saying on the matter.

Those clubs were all middle-class. Inter, too (04/04/1909), by the way.

My home state turned somewhat to the right in the last few elections. It might have affected the scale.

We went so far right according to some, that we elected a homosexual social-democrat for state governor TWICE. People tend to forget that.

Since he’s not socialist, thus he’s “fascist”. 🙄

Inter is too similar to us. There’s nothing special that separate us. It is a pure football rivalry. We are sky&black. They are red. That’s all.

This might be unbearable for both clubs. It seems to be the case specially for them. Thus, the fables…

Yes, but we aren't.

The issue is that we are the Southernmost state, and the states right North of us ARE the whitest ones. People just assume that we must be as well.

Yet, it's only true for half of the state. The Southern part of the state and Greater Porto Alegre are mixed like the rest of the country.

Lula commented a month ago he was surprised we weren't as white as he thought. (It's his THIRD term as president. LOL!)

And they all finish on 4 points ;) UKR unlucky to miss the next round that way but the bloody round ball game is the world game precisely because it is as unfair as life itself.

Group F in delicious chaos early in the last group games with Georgia up 1-0 on Portugal and Czechia pushing Türkiye maybe a little too aggressively. All four still a chance; only Portugal guaranteed to go through.
