Rumour Rumors of cat player in big trouble

Would agree if this was more of an isolated incident but generally speaking injury lists have been used to hide other issues for decades

This one particular example is just another example so hardly worth using as the breaking point or make an argument that the injury lists are being manipulated

Exactly - ongoing "hamstring" issues etc

If they don't list him as injured the rumour mill goes from a 3 to an 11. Then there is so much media speculation, not to mention rampant misinformation from all the knowsabloke types on social media, that the player's lawyer is able to go to court and claim that he can't possibly have a fair jury trial, and he walks, or even worse, people start locating/harrassing/intimidating/spreading false information about the victim.

I'd rather ensure a just legal outcome, even if it means weird online nerds get in a tizzy about the integrity of a bloody injury list.

1000% spot on post. There is going to be that sort of chatter anyway, but we (as a society) don't need to throw fuel on that fire.

Supporters in any sphere can become really unhinged and there is an unfortunate subset of humanity who think these crimes don't exist or that victims are doing it for personal gain.

All best avoided as much as possible. Let justice be done fairly, swiftly and effectively.

if you dont think people are talking about it or know about you are kidding yourself as I walked to the game I overheard people talking about it and there has been way more high profile people named than said player, and there would be no media speculation because the media already know and they cant/wont ask about it, listing him as injured is just dumb

You might be surprised but the Vic judicial system outweighs the needs and wants of the general AFL public.

Its a football forum people comment on many things, this argument of "whyyyyyyy do I care so much" is so stupid you could write that to every single post

Do you not think Geelong (his employer) has legal advice on how to navigate this?

They're not going to bypass that to appease a few nuffies who can't comprehend the situation.

And he's still going. There was nothing wrong with the first post...or the second...or the third...

But the 46th post about the same thing might be a sign that you're:

a) obsessive
b) not listening to anyone or what they're saying
c) not able to let things go
d) severely f*cked in the head

My money is all of the above, but who knows. On ignore, so at least I don't have to see the same nonsense over and over and over and over and over again.

we've been through this, I will reply to anyone who replies to me, if that makes me obsessed then sure, just because your little Geelong buddies agree with you doesn't make it so
